Kara DioGuardi Talks Idol, New Book on Ryan Seacrest Radio

Ex-Idol judge, Kara Dioguardi stopped by the Ryan Seacrest show today to promote her new memoir A Helluva High Note: Surviving Life, Love, and American Idol, due out April 26.

She didn’t delve into the bombshells reported in the press yesterday, but she did have some interesting things to say about her 2 years on Idol, including upsetting that well-honed chemistry her first year on the show, and tinkling in her bikini on the Idol finale.

Listen to the audio after the jump.

You know I want to like her, I feel like I should like her, but somehow she keeps making me not like her.

Her personality is grating. That being said… I wouldn’t have wanted to be the one who “replaced” Paula.

    “Tinkling in her bikini”?
    Say it ain’t so!

  • OvenMitt

She was molested? That might explain why her personality is the way it is. Kara makes more sense to me now, and I can almost forgive her try-hardness knowing that about her past.

I don’t think I’d have to guts to tell Vera Wang that I peed in her dress.

Me neither. I would have kept that to myself. As we say sometimes, TMI.

I have never warmed up to Kara and now I know why. Anything to sell a book it seems. The book is not the first time she has had the chance to bare her soul to help her healing but it is the first time she could paid for it.

I don’t think anyone warms to Kara. She is one of the most dull in the business.
