Kara DioGuardi married fiance Mike McCuddy yesterday in Prospect Harbor, ME. In Touch has the exclusive:

American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi wed teacher-turned-general contractor Mike McCuddy on July 5 at 12:30 in the afternoon in Prospect Harbor, Maine. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter wore a Vera Wang gown for the small ceremony. The couple, who met when Mike, 34, built the house next to Kara’s in Maine, got engaged in December. They exchanged vows at the United Methodist Church, across the street from her house, in front of about 30 guests. “I feel great. What was most unbelievable about the experience was when I looked out at the church and saw all these people that were so important to me and Mike, who were there for us. It was pretty powerful. I was very emotional and I’m not somebody who breaks down and cries,” Kara, 38, tells In Touch exclusively, adding that the weather even behaved. “It’s been raining in Maine for 60 days. The only day that was nice was yesterday!”

Congrats to Kara!

She made me nuts sometimes this season, but I wish her all the best! and they do make a beautiful couple. Also, Maine don’t look too bad either….

I wonder if there are any boundaries around that cliff…

Congratulations to Kara and Mike. Wonder if he’s going to move to LA now, or if they’ll continue to have a bi-coastal relationship?

What beautiful scenery! And they look pretty good, too.

  • AC

ahh.. so they did weather the hurricanes.. hehe

  • colette

They’ve climbed mountains, weathered hurricanes, broken every rule, jumped every bridge and run every line to get to that wedding….don’t they look a little out of breath? who the heck can blame them? :cool1_tb:

That is one weird photo. It all doesn’t look natural from Kara to the flowers in the front to the sea at the back. It’s a little bit creepy.

Kara had three words for her new hubby…..” I Do”

:) she looks beautiful , good luck to her and her man

I think Kara lives in Maine in the off-season (when she’s not filming the show). I saw an article once on her house (which is beautiful, with a gorgeous view) – I think I saw it linked here on mj’s. So, she’s already bicoastal.

Is it me? Their wedding portrait prominently features her butt? They look great and all (and Maine is a fantastic state); I just think the photo would be more elegant if she’d twisted around a bit.

I can vouch for the flowers. Beach plum, I think. They grow wild near the ocean in our part of the country (Mass., NH, Maine).

Yes, that really is coastal Maine. It’s truly spectacular in the summer. The rest of the time it’s frickin’ COLD.

  • ross

The air is very clear there. It literally looks like that, everything in sharp focus. (When you’re not socked in by fog.)

The rest of the time it’s frickin’ COLD.

And the water’s cold all summer long!!!

Congrats Kara and Mike! I agree that the scenery is so beautiful it almost looks like a backdrop. I do think the photographer should have separated them a bit tho, so that her lovely hair wasn’t covering half his face. Much happiness to them. :wub_tb:

Congratulations to Kara and Mike. And congratulations also on getting married to only the 2nd good day that Maine has had since June 1. We had one in June and yesterday here in Maine. It’s been raining so bad up here in Maine we are starting to consider building an ark. More rain predicted for today and tomorrow.

I can vouch for that coastal scene though, the coast of Maine has some very gorgeous spots. I am fortunate to live there.
