Kara Dioguardi has not Heard from Idol Producers

Watch Joe Dioguardi tell the New York cable show, Capital Tonight earlier today that his daughter Kara Dioguardi learned about her so-called firing the same way we did–on the internet.

In fact, Kara has not heard from Idol brass at all, even as rumors swirl about Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler joining Randy Jackson on a reconfigured judges panel.

Needless to say, according to Papa Joe, Kara would love to do another year on Idol, but is very disappointed in the way she’s being treated.

Nigel Lythgoe, returning to Idol as executive producer for Season 1o, has said to the press that with Simon Cowell off the panel, he’d like to reconfigure it from scratch, preferably with only 3 judges.

    She had a one year contract. News to Kara: If nobody phones you to renew the contract, you should probably look for another job.

    That’s the story in a nutshell. Kara was given two one-year contracts. She must have known that TPTB saw her has expendable, because at no point did they offer her a multi-year deal (AFAIK).

    While someone should have had the courtesy to call Kara, it’s not like she’s all that sweet with her patronizing, condescending, I’ll talk to you like you’re ‘special’ stance with a number of contestants. Karma bites us all at some point. It’s Kara’s turn to lick her wounds and move on.

    OMG do you guys remember the infamous scene (auditions/or hollywood IDK) where she’s practically sitting on that girls lap telling her how she hasn’t made it for the umpteenth time? OGM cringe worthy.

    Regardless of how I feel about Kara as a judge or her personality, this is just a crappy way to treat anybody. There is no evidence that Kara ever did anything wrong towards her employers. In fact, it appears she toed the party line pretty well.

    It bothered me that the internet entertainment bloggers were reporting she had been ‘fired’ and all seemed to just be repeating and adding on to a rumor. First and foremost, you cannot be fired from a job you do not have. She had a year to year contract.

    One thing I don’t understand is why Kara or her management didn’t make a call to the producers and ask if they would be re-upping. Maybe they did and got a vague response. I think I would want to know how I should schedule projects or block out my time.

    I have even less respect for the American Idol producers because of this.

    How about the way she treated Tim, like he was some kind of dim-witted special ed student?

    Luckily for her, Tim and Casey are good Christian boys whose mamas raised them properly. If they’re snickering about Kara’s fate, I’m sure they’re at least ashamed of themselves and will repent for their pettiness later.

    Sorry, no pity from me for Kara. You reap what you sow, and she sowed a lot of sh*t towards contestants she wielded power over, both as a judge on the show and as its hired goon on the talk show circuit. Who can forget her pathetic, self-serving appearance on Leno?

    Papa Joe’s timing makes this look like another ploy by TBTB to keep the buzz going. JLo-Tyler-Kara, next week who knows. Whatever, it got our attention which was the whole point, plus Kara gets a sympathy pass because TBTB appear to be giving her the Paula treatment. In the end, Kara gets a new contract plus (if she wants it) a shot at making people forget what an obnoxious fame wh*re she was last season.
