Thanks. I feel kind of bad I made my sister sound so negative. She wasn't really. I think she's just more of an easy-listening type, and it was all a little loud for her (including the fans right behind us). But I do think having so many different kinds of performers on the same bill risks a lot of people liking one thing or a couple of things and not the others.

Overall, what I got from the crowd was an incredible outpouring of love for everybody, though.

Thanks so much for the missed pick pics! That was hilarious at the time. And no, I didn't take any video or pictures. I am useless at that kind of thing.

I hope this works. You may have to cut and paste to see. Sorry if this is the case.

Except he muffed the throw and the first pick kind of fell at his foot and he cracked up. I swear he looked right at me when he did it and we shared a Cracking Up Moment.

This link shows the guitar pick muff (I think) during "My Hero". I thought you might appreciate it Smartcookie. Not sure who posted it on the tube. (I don't think it was you.:) )

Nice recap!!!

He has the knack of making each and every person there feel they are sharing a special, personal moment, I think.

I felt the same "Cook Effect" at the show I attended.

Thanks for the recap, Smartcookie. I have to say that I agree completely with you. I loved Jason much more in person than on the show, continued to like Brooke. Found Archie sincere and sweet but a little bit off from the other performances that I have seen. And, most importantly, I thought David Cook completely rocked the house and stole the entire show. He has the "It" factor in spades. It sounds like the KC crowd was just as receptive concert 2 as concert 1 and it was amazing. I enjoyed Chikezie far more than I expected, found Ramielle much better now that earlier in the tour. But, David Cook did not disappoint me one little bit. I expected him to be outstanding and he was. There Goes My Hero was my favorite of his songs. I loved all of the extra flourishes. He feels that song to his toes and it shows.

Isn't it funny how people see things differently. DC absolutely blew me away when I saw him and to tell you the truth I can't really remember anybody else's performance but I remember liking them. When I think of the concert I think of David Cook. When I read the reviews of the concert and they like this one or that one better than David C, I thought were they at the same concert?
When I was a little younger (he he) I went to see Neil Young and I thought he was the absolute best, my friend did not like him at all, I could not get over it. Here's to hoping that David Cook has a career as long as Neils.

He has the knack of making each and every person there feel they are sharing a special, personal moment, I think.
That's definitely the same impression I had of his skill as a performer. I hope the solo tour makes its way down to my area. :)
Nice recap, btw!

These were my hubby's top 5 picks from the Day 2 KC show (he didn't really follow Idol that closely on TV, so he was more impartial than I):

Jason--he said he was left wanting to hear Jason sing more songs. He was also impressed with Jason's stage presence, and how effortless it seemed for Jason.

Archie--he recognized that Archie is a real musician and that as he matures and is able to overcome some of his barriers, there is much more potential to be discovered.

Cook (recognized he was a good performer but was rather unimpressed with his style of singing and thought there was a LOT of "posing")

Brooke--if he is a fan of anyone's, it would be Brooke. I think he was surprised that Jason impressed him more than Brooke did. He would have liked to have heard something more heartfelt than the "1234" song from her...he thought that was kind of a silly song choice.

Chikezie--he was surprised by Chikezie ... he thought Chikezie really was able to engage the crowd as a performer.

His bottom line was that there are some people that just have "it" - the ability to get their message across to the crowd and connect. Jason impressed him as having "it" in spades...
