It’s been a long wait for fans, but Justin Timberlake, FINALLY has some new music out! Check out “Suit & Tie” featuring Jay-Z below. It’s the former N’Sync member’s first single in six years.

As Justin explains in an open letter to his fans, the tune is the first single from his upcoming album, which he began working on quietly in June of last year, called The 20/20 Experience.

Listen to “Suit & Tie” below. I was beginning to think JT had totally given up music for his blossoming acting career.

    Very mediocre-

I hate dance pop but made an exception for JT, he was the only dance pop artist I liked. His solo stuff was IMO the best pop music by a solo male artist since MJ’s History album. That said I’m not feeling this new song and not liking this new sound for him.

I like it. There’s some 70′s and 80′s r&b influence in there. It’s not catchy like “Rock Your Body” or some of his other hits but it definitely makes me interested in the direction he’s taking.

I couldn’t get through 10 seconds.  Hate the rap/hip hop beat I heard.  But, maybe the teens and twenties will think it’s the $hit.

Couldn’t take any more than that 10 seconds.  ewwww

It sounds like early Matt Giraud to me. Matt’s music pre-idol had more r & b dance groove to it:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EvPM6nlc0A

Not a huge fan of the song, maybe it will grow on me though…

My local HAC station obligingly played the song during drive time. I find it… innocuous.

Since I was kinda… bored by the final chorus, I’m not sure it’s going to grow on me. I’d be on board for this being a warm-up for a song that explores some of the same style but is a bit more striking.

Not to be rude, but WHAT? Is there really such a thing as “early Matt Giraud?” I wouldn’t embarrass Matt by attempting to compare him to Justin Timberlake.

As for the song, I think it’s boring. I heard it TWICE today while I was driving, and it just made me sad.

Wasn’t sure at first, but after hearing it on the radio a few times, am really liking it.  It’s such a refreshing change of pace from all the Mumford-type stuff invading pop radio.  I think I’ll end up loving this.

I was driving home from the airport tonight, and heard this on both the HAC and Pop stations. It really isn’t a very poppy song — seems like it would fit r&b formats better. But I expect to hear it quite a bit soon.

It’s ok, but it’s not something I would rush to buy

The more I listen to the song the more I like it. The song is better than many of the songs I hear on top 40 pop radio. At least Justin does not rely on auto tune like many of them do. I think it sounds kind of old school and I like that.
