OMG! that is so amazing! I’m so happy for him. I kind of let him fall off the radar for after a year or two after his year on Idol and then I saw him sing on the Idol show he shared with Ms Caldwell (can’t think of her first name). Man! was he good! He matured and was sexy and soulful with a beautiful sound. I went right on iTunes and downloaded a few of his songs. He is def worth a second listen to. I think he’ll be amazing and the cast is stellar! Hope I get to see it. I better start planning my trip to NY now!

That is really great for Justin. Brian Stokes Mitchell is a 4-time Tony nominee and Patti LuPone is a legend in theater. No better people to be paired with for his broadway debut! Congrats Justin!!

Nice. I love that film. It’s on my Netflix queue right now, actually. I believe Carlos was Antonio Banderas’ character in the movie. Good for Justin!

Wow, this is a huge career move. Congrats to Justin! Opening in a Broadway show playing the son of two multi-Tony winners will certainly get him some attention in the industry. I am so happy to hear such good news for him all these years after his run on Idol.

It’s hard to not be happy for Justin. He deserves a break. I love seeing Justin and Diana (the two most shat upon runner ups) do great things all on their own.

This so much. Diana and Justin have both been dumped upon so much, it’s always nice to see good things for them. I think this will be great for Justin, and Diana has worked super hard to do as well as she has.

Congrats to Justin! (And to Todrick Hall, too, who just landed a role in “Memphis.”)

It just goes to show that “losing” American Idol doesn’t mean a damn thing once you’re a few years removed from the show. All experience is good experience if you have the right attitude and work hard. I’m happy for Justin and all the other Idols who’ve had successful runs in musical theater. As Glee has demonstrated, there’s a HUGE market for this stuff even beyond Broadway.

Very happy for him – and to anyone from AI who actually lands a role on Broadway. It is not a put-down. It is an honor.

Wow, what a cast. Go, Justin. About time he got some good work.

Principal role in a musical cast featuring a living Broadway legend and a soon to be legend? That’s amazing. Congrats Justin.

Happy for Justin. He seems like a nice guy who treats everyone with respect when he does interviews etc. So glad he can use his talents on Broadway and get some recognition Himself. Wish him well!!

Co-sign. It’s sad people equate record sales with level of talent and then trash good, hardworking and yes, talented people like Justin, Diana, and others. I hope this show becomes Justin’s much deserved redemption.

Good for Justin! But I have to admit I didn’t even know he did any acting.

Well, I have to give it up to Justin, he never gave up on his dream to make it in the entertainment business. This achievement is very well deserved (and I’m sure also very much appreciated by Justin).
