He would've been a very inconsistent performer as evidenced by Hollywood week. One week, he would be fantastic. Next week he could be a train wreck if he doesn't find a song that fits him in the given theme. I doubt he's the type who could adjust and compromise given the time pressure. Idol did what was best for him: Gave him plenty of screen time. Cut him before he becomes a bigger train wreck during the competition. It benefitted him well. I think he is a great musician and songwriter. I agree that he has a lot of growing up to do, but I believe he has a lot of potential. All artists can have off performances at one time or another. They are just human. What a magical opportunity for him to make this album. I don't remember hearing Josiah rubbishing AI and I don't put much truth or value into what is reported on TMZ. I watched that video clip and it didn't look like anything bad to me. He was just trying to get into the party. He wasn't rude or anything and seemed polite to the paparazzi.
