Josiah on Ellen!

MTV spent the weekend with Josiah. Here is an interview with Josiah and a video of him performing “One Last Song”.

I commented on a previous thread, but I just have to say it was so great seeing Josiah on Ellen. Loved his performance of “To Run,” and he looked like he was about to cry at the end.

The following videos are from MTV. (I think it may have been posted on another thread. Whoever it was, thanks!)

Also, it’s so amusing to see how many little girls post on Josiah’s myspace.

Oh, I meant to post those with the video…I’m going to do that right now…

  • oscar90

Wow. I am so genuinely happy for Josiah! That is great. I really really hope he gets somewhere with this. God Bless him.

That was so nice to see. I liked that song. Good luck, Josiah.

Great! Thanks MJ. You can delete the links part of my comment then.

Wow, that was very generous of Ellen. Gotta love her. And Josiah sure sings with a lot of feeling. Good luck to him.

  • Soapbox0916

Thanks for the video. Josiah has an extra special something that really touches me, and it shines through his raw talent.

  • abbysee

Wow, just freaking wow! To bad I can’t vote for him this week. He is an amazing talent, and Ellen has done such a wonderful thing. I hope doors will in fact open wide for him. He was not right for idol, but he is so damn talented that I just can’t see him a least getting a shot.

I’m rooting for ya, Josiah. What a great lady,Ellen is to have him on her show, and, try to further his career. I sort of thought he looks like her younger brother. William Hung, move over, Josiah Lemming is in the building. At least, Josiah can sing! I wish great things for his future.

That was awesome of ellen to have him on her show. He was charming and performed the song really well. I’m pulling for this guy.

  • Kirsten

Great show. Thanks for capturing this for us MJ.

I too am hoping for great things for Josiah’s future. I really enjoyed that song. Lots of raw emotion. I’m glad that Ellen gave him an extra chance to reach another audience.

  • erennick

Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Thanks for posting this MJ. I’ m so glad he sang “To Run.” It was a great performance and a great interview. He is so well-spoken and as others have said- I heart him…

I watched this after the guys performance show and he shows emotion (sometimes too much emotion :) ) soo well. The Top 12 guys all sang really well, but aside from the handful of great performances, they were boring. They tended to sing without any emotion or connection to their material, and it wasn’t just the teenagers either. Jason Yeager had that big ol’ smile on throughout the performance. Anyway, back to Josiah- yeah for this appearance on Ellen, yeah to MTV, and hopefully yeah to hearing more of him in the future.

Just for the record I want to say that Josiah is a fantastic musician, and should have made it onto AI rather than someone like Carly. But, as others have said (Ellen too) perhaps it wasn’t meant to be on AI, and I’ll add that maybe it was BETTER that it wasn’t AI because they would stifle him creatively as an artist. He has a true songwriting talent with a good voice. Even if he wouldn’t get a mainstream pop CD going he would certainly do well on the indie scene like Rufus Wainright, Ani DiFranco, Daniel Lopresti, and others. But, if Josiah had made AI he would have gotten my finger dialing 2 hours every tuesday for him alone… and if he was gay I’d ask for his hand in marriage :o D

    I heart Josiah :clap_tb:

Can’t help thinking AI have done him the biggest favour ever by giving him so much exposure followed by the boot.

This way he gets tremendous “he wuz robbed!!!” buzz and he gets to be known for his own compositions – which appear to be popular going by Myspace and YouTube – rather than for bad karaoke forced on him by people who want to see him gone from the show before he upsets whatever Master Plan they have for all their ringers. Result!

I wonder what TPTB are making of it, though. They must surely realise that they missed a trick here. Josiah would have been an immensely polarising contestant – you either love him or hate him I suspect – and there could have been some glorious trainwrecks to be had along the way from inappropriate song choices. With his youth, inexperience and obvious vulnerability they could have used him to the enth degree to create controversy, yet they gave him lots of screen time then turned him loose…?

Perhaps Idol has a conscience after all…

I love Josiah and in hindsight, i think not making it to the top 24 on Idol may have been the biggest blessing he has had musically.

He is definitely a stand out, he has that thing that makes you sit up and listen. I loved the Run song he did on Ellen.

    Thanks Ellen!

The President of Fox called Josiah a few days ago to set up a meeting with him. He wants to bounce around a few ideas….

Go Josiah! (and get a lawyer to protect your interests).

  • bluegreen

Glad this is working out for him.

That would be hilarious if he turned out to have the biggest career out of all the AI hopefuls this year…
