I’ve been listening to the songs from Josiah Leming’s beautiful new EP, Angels Undercover on his MySpace, and I cannot wait to get my hands on my very own copy.

You can download the 5 song EP from Amazon and iTunes. Click the links to order…

Bought it! I really love it. Josiah is a really talented songwriter. Hope he does great. Does anyone know if any of these songs will get radio time or are they going to wait until his full album comes out?

To tell you honestly, there’s still a little part of me that resents his faux British accent as well as his snottiness during/after Idol. I wish him well, just as long as he doesn’t go all “I’m so bloody above Idol” again.

Thanks for posting this, mj. I just downloaded my copy, and am hearing these songs with good speakers for the first time – it’s beautiful and touching. Angels Undercover breaks my heart.

I was waiting for your link before I bought it, so thanks a bunch for posting it early! I appreciate your site, and your objectivity, mj.

Does anyone know if non-US residents can buy downloads from Amazon and how? I really want to get this EP…

purple – it looks like you may be able to order a physical copy from the Warner Bros. store through Josiah’s myspace. They seem to ship internationally.

I’m definitely going to have these five songs on repeat all day. As far as promotion for the EP, I think they just released the EP so that Josiah would have something available to sell at shows during his pre-album tour. I cannot wait for the full album in January.

I hope they promote the album properly when the time comes. I could hear these songs all over AAA and movie soundtracks.

thanks for the links. I listened to the songs on his myspace page. I like Arctic Outcry Wind quite a bit. Angels Undercover is good but to me not special. And I actively dislike TheySay, mostly because of that 1:00 preface (or whatever you call a section at the beginning of a song before a song really gets started)–it’s too long to wait to figure out what the song is going to sound like.

hypertwink–I get what you mean about the faux British accent. I don’t get it at all. I don’t think it’s a put on though–I think his southern accent comes out like that when singing. But it is odd and distracting. At times it’s a stronger British accent than singers from . . . you know . . . the UK.

I can see where he might catch on with a lot of people though. Good luck to him.

I definitely plan to download these when I get home from work. Thanks, MJ.

Does anyone know what sort of promotion they have planned for him?

He’s going on a little mini-tour. But I haven’t heard anything about TV appearances.

Thanks for the tip, cheese, but I might just have found a way to purchase the EP off iTunes, courtesy of my friend (the Cookie fan). ;) (I would/do prefer the physical copy but I’m a little wary of shipping fees, which in this case would probably be a lot more than the cost of the EP itself. Heh.)

I just downloaded Josiah’s EP (I used your link for this, and David’s preorder, thanks Mj). I can’t wait to listen. He is a truly talented songwriter.

I bought the first two songs and will see how they grow on me before I pay for the full EP. Aside from the obvious Chris Martin influences, he reminds me a lot of two other British bands, The Hoosiers (“Run Rabbit Run”) and the Stereophonics (“Maybe Tomorrow”), although I don’t think he’s as good a singer as either of their leads. Still, an excellent first effort it appears. I do really hope Josiah tones down the sour-graping about Idol, though.

Josiah’s EP is #10 on iTunes top alternative albums!

Also, he was up to number 46 on top albums today, but is back down to #52 now. Still, that’s quite an accomplishment for having no promotion other than his myspace, and word-of-mouth.
