Holy Melisma Batman!

American Idol alum, Joshua Ledet, sang the National Anthem at the Miles Davis Official Stamp Dedication, sponsored by the US Post Office. The ceremony took place yesterday in Los Angeles. Read more about it at The Examiner

Joshua holds nothing back as he belts out the Anthem. Too much? I’m a Joshua fan, but I think less is more, especially when it comes to the National Anthem.

I agree, Incipit – he’s very young. Restraint comes with maturity, and I know Josh will eventually get there. He’s shown so many glimpses of brilliance already, and with time he’ll learn to rein in all that unbridled talent. Although, I have to admit, I really enjoy his raw energy now. It’s exciting to me.

In a press conference after the finale, Jimmy mentioned that Josh (and some of the other kids) is super talented but that he needs “seasoning” and “work”. If Jimmy has signed him (which he probably has), then maybe he’s willing to do a little molding and coaching before setting him loose on the world.

    Reminder:

NO THREAD JACKING. How awesome your favorite Idol sang the National Anthem is irrelevant to this post.

STAY ON TOPIC. Which is Joshua Ledet and his version of the Anthem.

Am I allowed to triple like a comment? LOL

MERCY! That was a overdone, screaming, massacre of the National Anthem. Joshua don’t understand what it means to pull back a bit and not force the song.

Maybe Joshua is still in AI bubble. That’s what he’s been doing during the competition and earned him a lot of standing ovations. Can we blame the judges for not correcting him?
