Jordin Sparks Opens for the Jonas Brothers In Dallas TX, Gets Ready to Release “Battlefield”

The Jonas Brothers world tour featuring Season 6 winner, Jordin Sparks as opening act opened in Dallas, Texas Saturday night. Jordin twitters after the show, “just crawled into my bunk. First show was PHENOMENAL! Over 45,000 people…oh my goodness! Thank you 4 coming out-you rocked!”

Is Jordin looking fierce or what? The lead single, “Battlefield” from her upcoming album is currently #25 and climbing the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart.

Battlefield, the album, is due out on July 21, and according to Billboard magazine, Jordin is happy to have had more time to work on her sophomore record than her 2007 debut. This time around, she spent 4 months in the studio and got co-writes on some of the songs.

“I knew I’d be able to get more involved because we had the time,” Sparks says. “It’s an amazing feeling to put my experiences on paper, and all of a sudden it becomes a song.”Jordin is booked to perform on Good Morning America, Live With Regis and Kelly and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to promote the new album. Plus, the label has partnered with the young plus-size women’s fashion chain Torrid to host album-listening parties.

There will also be a deluxe version of Battlefield for $22.98 that features a bonus DVD with behind-the-scenes footage of Jordin in the studio and working out with her new personal trainer. AOL will pick up the extra footage as exclusive content.

Fun Fact: Kevin Jonas manager and father of the Jonas Brothers handles Sparks with his partner Phil McIntyre.

    From what I understand Leah Labelle has a gig on this tour as one of Jordin’s backup singers? I hope they have her mic turned waaaaaay down so she doesn’t screw the whole thing up for Jordin.

    Jordan Sparks is so beautiful! I didn’t watch her season, but she’s basically the only winner outside of Kelly whose music I bought just on the basis of what I heard on the radio.

    Good for Jordin. It’s nice to see she’s going strong and has support being two seasons out of the Idol bubble.

    Jordin looks amazing and I like her single Battlefield. Huge improvement, IMO. I’m hoping that record #2 is a better reflection of how versatile she is.

    Jordin is really coming into her own. I was one who thought that after No Air finally went away that she would too. BOY, was I wrong. If she keeps this up, she’ll be catching up and/or surpassing Kelly imo. I particularly like Jordin because she is such a sweet person and such a tremendous role model to teen girls.

    putting her on the jonas brothers tour before her album drops is genius. she is gaining thousands upon thousands of fans right in her target demo every night that will most likely want the album once it comes out (and beg mom and dad for it).

    so happy for her and hope she does well with this sophomore effort.

    lol sunchick…….you’re right about the wardrobe. I actually didn’t really notice or think about that, but now that I take a second look, it definitely is an improvement!
