Jordin Sparks shared a few clips of new songs that may appear on her next album on the John Jay and Rich radio show in Phoenix today.

She’s writing and recording her new album right now, and Jordin says she’s not sure of the release date, but the label is thinking September.

Tonight she plays in the Mix it Up Variety Hour benefit show with the Rhythm Riders.

I ripped the clips–listen to them after the jump.   My favorite is the hooky “Walking on Snow”

“Faith” ( Jordin co-wrote this right before the inauguration)

@MJ – what application, plugin, service do you use for streaming these audios in WP? It’s great!

I like the sound of “Faith,” even with the trite lyrics. The soft voice and piano is a good sound for her. “Let it Rain” is pretty generic. “Walking on Snow” would be a decent choice for a single. I don’t like “Paper Cut” much at all.

  • ordinarygirl09

I kind like the second one.

  • ordinarygirl09

oops i mean the first one

My favorite was Faith too. It sounds pretty and I like her voice there. Kinda of reminds me of something that would play on Grey’s Anatomy.

The last two were my least favorite.

I like “Faith” – she sounds a bit like Alicia Keys here..Hee.

Oooh “Let it Rain” sounds good – she didn’t have this kind of song on her first album, it’s great to hear something like this from Jordin.

“Walking on Snow” – Agree with MJ, very hooky. I like it!

Paper Cut – not my fave, okay.

Walking On Snow sounds like a hit to me. Paper Cut is way too Big Girls Don’t Cry to me.

One thing about Jordin is she always surprises me. I always find myself liking her songs more than I thought I would.

I think ‘Let it Rain’ could be a hit. ‘Walking on Snow’ reminds me of an Imogen Heap song; I really love it.

Now I’m looking forward to Jordin’s sophomore album. I like her songs, especially the first three. I’m in a mood tonight so Faith got to me. Both Let It Rain and Walking On Snow could be potential singles.

papercut is kind of my favorite of the 4, but i like faith a lot too.

  • Lu

Wow. Sure seems quick to be talking about a second cd!

  • weareallinnocent

^^Lu, that was my first reaction too! Oh well, good for Jordin, I wish her much success~

2 years between CDs….sounds like a good span to me. And this time she’s had some time to work on it and make the sound hers….not the Producers.

I really like Jordin and think she’ll have a nice long career. Hope someday to hear a duet from her and David Archuleta.

2 years between CDsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦.sounds like a good span to me.

Just seemed quick to me – especially since her stuff on her current cd is still getting good airplay. I was comparing to the AI5 crop since those are the ones i’ve followed the closest and most are just now having their second cds hit. Anyhoo, I like Jordin a lot and wish her good luck. :)

I like these clips! Sounds a little more grown up compared to the songs on the first album. Good for Jordin!

I think her voice sounds very rough and I wonder about the condition of her vocal chords.
