Jordin Sparks – Battlefield Album Cover!

Who’s brilliant (not) idea was that? The picture, the colors, the design, the font … it’s all a mess.

That is one weird cover. Maybe it will look good sitting on the rack in the store though.

I know Jive is cheap and all, but cheap does not have to equal cheezy or tacky. First her video was all kinds of low budget looking (except for the huge honking product placement car which probably paid for half of it) and now her cover looks like they dug up an old photo, cropped it and slapped some words on it. The girl gave you 3 top 10 hits, could y’all at least try to make it look like she might be a bit of a star? Damn.

ETA: I am also not crazy about the open mouth thing. I hate when female entertainers all feel compelled to do that pose. That is so my issue, though.

This is the album cover? Whoa. I saw this on another site yesterday and just assumed it was updated cover art for the digital single. Wow…I do not like this at all. Not only does it look really cheap and bland (it’s not going to pop off the shelf at Wamart at ALL), but I feel like I’m Jordin’s ear nose and throat doctor about to do a check of her sinus canals. This just seems like a weird move on Jive’s part, but hopefully the music will sell the album better than the cover. Yikes.

That might be the worst Idol CD cover yet second only to Blake’s eww. Jordin is such a gorgeous girl, and that is just so awful.

Is Jordin paying from everything herself, because so far everything to do with this album has been cheap

At least the low(ish) budget video was kinda cool and made Jordin look gorgeous… this cover? Not so much. Cheap, AND it makes her cheeks look like there’s stuff stuck in it.

Please tell me this is a joke. It can’t really be her album cover, can it? Jordin Sparks is so much prettier than that picture, and who’s great idea was it to cut off half her face? That cover is going to scare people away. I absolutely HATE it.

Well that is certainly a dull cover. But I think she made a very similar facial “pose” during her performance on Idol this past year. I remember laughing at it – though I’m sure that wasn’t the intent.

OMG!!! I cannot believe that! I was gonna refrain from commenting on that cover, but that is just too funny!! My goodness there are tears in my eyes from laughing (it’s either laugh or cry for that girl)…

Horrible cover. Jordin is such a gorgeous girl/woman, why in the world did Jive think they needed to do “this” to her? I could have taken a better picture with a disposable 35mm camera.

I don’t get Jennifer Hudson in this cover at all her’s first cover was beautiful.
It seems to me not enough money is going into Jordin’s second effort like her first one did. I’m not that much of a fan of Jordin but I guess the music will speak for itself even the albums cover sucks. Also where is her promotion team at? She’s needs to be making the talkshow rounds performing her single if she wants more sales but I blame the people at Jive. Maybe they will start live promotion in a few weeks.

If it didn’t have her name splattered over it I’m not sure I’d even know that was her. That’s how bad it is.

I like Britney’s Circus cover. And Archie at least looks good in his, even though it’s not particularly creative or anything.

I’m not sure about Jive not having a good budget for her. The people working on her album are all bigshots – Ryan Tedder, Dr. Luke, T-Pain, etc. Jive just probably didn’t think that the cover was worth pouring money on when they can be spending it at her promotions, radio push, etc.

Aww, if it’s going to bad, they might as well make it hilariously bad like Blake’s or Kat the Slutty Bumble Bee. Still, it’s the music that matters. No one will care if she has a gigantic half-head if the music is good.

Cheap is exactly what I think of this cover. And cheap in the sense of a $2 hooker, not K-Mart.

In general, I think they’re trying to dirty up Jordin, to trowel on some sex appeal, with the song choice, the boob-grabbing video, the cd cover. That is SO not who she is.

Oh they spent money on the record and promo all right. They just haven’t put much into the presentation. Of course it doesn’t matter in the long run.. the music will sell the album. I just think the girl has earned the right to be presented with a little more care, that’s all.

Her face looks ok, the “Battlefield” font is just plain white letters, “Jordin Sparks” font is horrible, the “J” looks like a 3rd grade hand-writing…

Overall, disappointing… this is like a scratch or a sample picture.

They still could have did more. From what I’ve seen Jive does not give to much attention on new artist when it comes to television appearances IMO. IDK since I didn’t follow Jordin on promotion for her first album but was she one tv at all like talkshows and other promotional programs on tv? I remember she was on Tyra once but thats all I saw so can someone tell me how her promotion went on her first album?

mastriod2000, she got all the typical winner’s promo like morning talk shows and the macy’s parade. i think they focused their efforts on radio, where they actually did pretty well. but yeah i don’t know what’s going on with this cover.

It’s an uninspired cover that doesn’t do Jordin justice at all and doesn’t show much creativity. Its an unfortunate cover but I don’t think it qualifies as bad, though, because the photo at least isn’t distorted. David Cook’s album cover is bad. It looks like they squeezed and elongated his head and he lost about 50 IQ points in the process.
