Aww…Jordin and Grobin, how cute, lol. They sound great together. Jive has done a spectacular job promoting Jordin. Lets hope that her career will continue to shine.

Wow, I don’t like this at all. Sorry, not one bit. I find it horrible. They can both sing, but this was painful for me. They took a shit on the Simon and Garfunkle version for me. It’s just horrible I think.

Ugh…I’ve never heard Jordin sound bad before…..it’s pretty bad.

Wow..Josh and Jordin sound amazing together. Jon Bon Jovi and Michael Johns also performed at this event. I hope we get some video Of Michael Johns soon!! I hear he was nothing less then Fabulous!! Lots of great Pics over at MJO.

i don’t really think it’s them that sound bad…it’s just the awful sound quality. i’m sure we’d be blown away seeing that live.

Jordin has come a long way since Idol. I think they’re both great.

Does she sing by herself much, besides the national anthem? She seems to be paired up all the time. I guess that it’s good PR, and keeps her name out there in between records. But seems a bit odd to me for a solo artist.

I guess I don’t like it because I find Groban boring and I find Jordin screamy. I tried to look past the horrible quality to form my opinion. I just don’t think they do the original any justice at all. They don’t make it their own either. I truly think it sucks.

I’m one who really didn’t like Jordin at all on the show. I’ve given her much more credit for what she’s done after. This, however, isn’t something I love her for at all.

I love Josh Groban’s rich, powerful voice which was amazing at his concert last year. But I must agree Jordin sounds thin and screechy and does not blend well with Josh. Just not a good pairing. Their voices are too dissimilar.

There are very few women who can come anywhere near to sounding good with Josh. Celine and Barbra come to mind. I am surprised Jordin got this opportunity. Somebody is doing something right.

I don’t know if it’s right if you sound as shrieky as she did. I actually don’t think that based on this performance Groban is amazing either. I truly think they both sucked….hard. I know both have more talent that this performance showed. I just think it a shame that people have to hear this. Hopefully they love them both (as you obviously do) and won’t judge either based on this abortion.

I’m at work so can’t watch this yet… but I’ve been listening to Josh Groban on my iPod since yesterday. Love him. First John Mayer, then Josh… Jordin is quickly making me jealous.

I was thinking the same thing. So far she’s paired up with very high profile male artists, which generates a lot of buzz for her. So far, she’s performed with Chris Brown, the Jonas Brothers, John Mayer, Jesse McCarthy and now Josh Groban. (Am I missing anyone?) I thought she and Josh Grobin sounded terrific.

I am going to give it another listen. With Josh I either love him or hate him. Usually there is no middle ground. I wasn’t a supporter of Jordin on the show, but since then she has more than proven herself in my eyes. So I am gonna give it another shot. Maybe it was the audio that was off….

Okay, I listened and I realized why I don’t like it. One, Jordin upper register was strained and tinny. The other thing is that I don’t like a bombastic rendition of Bridge. I hated it when Clay Aiken did it. I thought he killed the integrity of the song, same here. I think there is a line not to cross when doing iconic songs. This line was crossed, no likey.

Wow, that was stunning!!! Jordan Sparks, hmmmmm, she seems to be doing pretty good for herself. I’m happy for her! She really is a beautiful girl.

ETA: I’m not a fan of either one, not a non-fan either, I’ve just never followed either one of them. I thought this was beautiful!

ETAA: Someone upthread mentioned the sound quality of the vid, I agree, this needs to be overlooked imo.

Love Josh Groban and though I never warmed to Jordin Sparks during AI6, I’ve enjoyed a lot of her performances since that season.

According to the accompanying text to these videos, this duet was unrehearsed. If so, this is pretty amazing, IMO.

That was a good performance…what sucks is the audio quality of the video…

someone at IDF heard on on the Johnjay and Rich radio show that they said someone paid 100k to charity for them to do that duet so it was unrehearsed . that could explain why it was not as good as it could have been .though i think it was great anyway.

You forgot Chris Brown or is that the idea…..however methinks Muhammad Ali is the dude with the serious pull!

PS Michael Johns also performed at this event, apparently singing his new single due out April 14th.

Yup, it’s pretty cool that Jordin and Michael Johns were able to perform there with so many big names. From what I have read this is a big annual fundraiser that Muhammad Ali hosts–hence the big time performers. Hopefully we get vids of the rest of the performances…such as Michael Johns’ single and who knows a little Bon Jovi maybe?!
