Jon Peter Lewis interviews Alex Wagner-Trugman! Check it out right HERE.

Alex sang for the show, but due to Idol red tape, the performance can’t be posted until August…

that was just hysterical! i loved the end “we can each get a gumball.”

    I heart Alex Wagner-Trugman.

That was great! I love these ‘shows’. :) I’m always happy when a new on pops up. I missed the second one so watched that one today as well.

On Alex…the other night I spent the evening at a local music bar listening to 8 aspiring songwriters, (which was awesome btw), but right there before me was Alex, 20 years down the road! This guy looked just.like.him., sounded very much like him and had the same sense of humor as Alex! It was so great for JPL to feature Alex! Yay!

The format this year was just not good. I would have loved to see a few performances form him rather than the one weird one we got.

Hopefully, someday, JPL will get a gig as a real talk show host. His comments are great, his humor is spot on, his interviewing techniques and questions are spot on.

Alex’s answers gave me tons of insight into AI and the process. I thought his correlation to elimination mimicking the 7 stages of grief was absolutely priceless. I think we see so much of that from the eliminated contestants within the first 24 hours after they are sent packing.

My favorite comment of JPL’s was when he was encouraging Alex…to paraphrase: You were able to make it to 36 out of a hundred thousand. These kids should feel really proud about that. I’ve never competed like that and haven’t ever come close to that kind of result in my lifetime.

LOL, another good show, funny as hell JPL. And, I have no idea who he is and no idea when he was on AI. :-)

I did miss this week in crappy pictures!

Alex had a JPL screensaver and Jordin was a fan, too. I loved their duet and the lyrics were too funny.

Why can’t our MJ and JPL host one of these stupid AI cable shows?

JPL was one of the few bright spots of season 3, IMHO. I would say he was a precursor to Chris Sligh, with the humor of Normund Gentle but more serious about his music. You can find his YouTube performance videos here.

I just edited in some links to his latest album into the post. Y’all might want to check out a few of his tunes! It’s good stuff. :) .

^^Thanks mj! I checked out a few and read your archived review too. :-) On my list…

They should be producing AI instead…

I love these shows and their humor. And I especially love JPL (and Alex) for playing a Flight of the Conchords song there at the end!

  • LadyBeBop

Great show. JPL and AWT are a natural together.

My problem, and it’s with all of the American Nobody shows. I don’t think my processor is that slow. However, the video seems to start and stop, start and stop…as if my processor is that slow. Do y’all have that problem? And if so, how can it be fixed?

  • TwigLA

That was quite amusing. JPL’s shows are growing on me, and he is proficient in the talk show host role.

I love Alex. I see him having a career in comedy – stand-up, TV, film – along with his musical career. He’s a natural.

LadyBeBop I have that same problem with the starting and stopping. So I can’t even watch anymore it’s so frustrating.
