Jessica Sanchez will perform at the Democratic National Convention next week in Charlotte, NC. The American Idol runner up is set for Wednesday September 5.

Taylor Hicks, Danny Gokey and Ayla Brown did the honors at the Republican convention this week.

Glee star, Amber Riley, with sing the National Anthem on Thursday.

Jessica Sanchez tweeted, “I might not be old enough to vote, but I’m so honored and excited to perform at @BarackObama’s big party in Charlotte next week! #DNC2012!”

    I was wondering if anyone as young as Jessica has ever performed at these political comventions.  Just imagine how nervous most would be.  I hope Jessica is fabulous!  I’m going to watch on C-Span and wish her the best.
