Jesse Langseth Interviewed by FOX 9 in Minneapolis – Plus, Her Audition from Idol Tonight

Awww, mj thank you for posting! It’s amazing how connected I felt to her so quickly even though she only sang 2x’s. I hope she’s able to get something out because I’ll definitely buy it!

I really liked her on the show, and even voted a couple times for her. Wish she made it further.

Hopefully she will be able to put something out, she still is my favorite this season… I really like her voice and the both song she chose to do…

Jesse is right about Tatiana’s talent, but Ken Warwick told Kim Caldwell in an interview on one of those TV Guide channel parasite shows that Del Toro was cast strictly for drama and singing wasn’t really her role. I think the show blew it in dumping both her and Jesse. But que sera, such is Idol.

On Jesse: I love both her voice and vocal style, she was clearly the one for me out of this year’s cast. Like Paula Addul said, Jesse was the one that I kept coming a back to, Simon’s “forgettable” nonsense notwithstanding.

By the way, if you look closely I think that you can see that her naturally blond hair is growing out at the root there in that interview. I wonder why she decided to go red on Idol? I’ll bet she will be blond Jesse Lang (without the -seth) again in a few months.

After considering the timing of this whole thing, I suspect that she went on Idol because she was on probation for her DUI and couldn’t do the gigs in bars that have been her bread and butter for the six years prior to Idol and figured what ta heck, might as well give this Idol thing a go.

Idol Tonight, the other TV Guide parasite show, broadcasted her full audition package as part of the “lost/unseen footage” segment last week, she sang The First Cut Is The Deepest, and in that segment Jesse talks about having to take two jobs to make up for the income that she had been making from singing. So with the added publicity and notoriety of Idol, I’m fairly certain, Jessica Lanseth (nee Jesse Lang) will be continue to make her living from her considerable talent, and, here’s hoping she gets some recording done because I’m first in line for buying.

Hometown pride aside, Jesse is the one I’ll remember most. I know she has opened for her brother (Johnny Lang) but I’m hoping for some recorded music to enjoy. I have a thing for unique voices that know how to deliver a song. I wish her luck as she checks out what’s “up in the air”.

It was TV Guide‘s Idol Tonight show, there are too many of those shows to keep straight in my head. I was tipped that Jesse’s audition was shown so I recorded it and did the 300X FF to the good part.

The talking heads, that included Phil Stacey said that it just shows how ‘great the talent of the Top 13 is that Jesse couldn’t make the cut’. :flush_tb: Oh, sure, talk about spin. I just laughed at that [and threw stuff at the TV.]

I much preferred Jesse to Jasmine and still don’t know why Simon didn’t like her. Jasmine was the one who ended up being forgetable. I taped Idol Tonight so will check out Jesse’s spot.

I interpreted that a little differently. There’s no way of knowing for sure, but it sounded like to me she took herself out of the bar scene to get sober. Once she was clean, she looked at Idol as a fresh start, maybe.

This shit pisses me off so much.

Do the judges genuinely believe that both Megan and Jasmine are more talented than Jesse? Really?

It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I just can’t get over it.

Awww, I wish they had showed her audition and had given her a spot in the top 12. Her musical instincts are far above half of the top 13, in my book. Damn you Simon.

The contestant most similar to her is Megan, and although Megan’s vocals are interesting, she can’t touch Jesse when it comes to musicality. There’s really no comparison.

But I guess you don’t have to be musical to be a “package artist”. Simon said it–American Idol is no place to be an artist. .

I noticed Jesse in a brief solo during Hollywood week and thought she had something special. And while not a “classic beauty” when she did hit the bigger stage with the hair & makeup done, she looked beautiful. And one heck of a body. I felt that she really KNEW and loved music, and that is something I like. Someone who knows some music history, but I know the judges don’t care one whit about that sort of thing. I do hope she finds her way.

I loved Jesse’s “Bette Davis Eyes” and was surprised when the judges panned it. I think in her own way she’s way more attractive to me than Megan. I think a lot of it’s her personality and spark. It’s got to be because of Simon that Jasmine made it into the top 13 and I don’t get that at all. :blink_tb:
