Jermaine Paul – “I Believe In This Life” – Music Video

The Voice 2 winner, Jermaine Paul, debuted his new single, “I Believe in This Life” on Thursday’s results show.

Yesterday, the official music video came out on VEVO, featuring Jermaine and a group of revelers celebrating in a dance club.

Jermaine, who once sang back up for Alicia Keys, won the show with a decidedly retro vibe. We’ll see if he can land on the charts with a dance club tune.

Watch below.

Another winner singing a different genre from what he was voted in on.  Didnt like it at all.  I liked his soulful ballads.

Confusing debut single. No one even knew that Jermaine liked this kind of music let alone singing it.
The songs feels like it’s one of the tracks Usher recorded but wasn’t good enough to be in the actual album.

  • Ann Freeman

    Eh!  Sorry, didn’t like it!

His single is only being released to Top40 & Top 40/Rhythmic-Crossover radio 11/13.

This is just tragic.  He wins the bloody contest and gets a contract, but a bloody turkey of a song?  To cruel.

  • fuzzywuzzy

Sadly, I think that Jermaine will do even more poorly than Javier Colon.

I can imagine what you feel. Love Adam Lambert’s run on American Idol that was more into rock, pop rock…. and it took me a couple of months before I could warm myself up to the dance/funk  numbers in his sophmore album…

  • Eric Mitchell

This is better then Javier’s first single but it does feel like a Usher or Chris Brown reject.

Jermaine may believe in this life, but I don’t believe in that song…

  • girlygirltoo

    This is bad. Sorry, Jermaine.

How ironic. I think this is just as bad as Melanie Amaro’s “Don’t Fail Me Now.” Cheap dance track. The videos are kinda the same too, almost made me think it came from the same director.

How is The Voice beating AI in the ratings when AI hasn’t even started yet. I guess they forgot about Xfactor. Didn’t AI end up beating The Voice last season?

If Javier Colon was the Kelly Clarkson of The Voice, Jermaine will be their Lee Dewyze. Javier was a great singer and Jermaine we don’t even know how he won, since he was always mediocre at best and didn’t have a big fanbase.

Come on, we all complain they don’t invest enough in their winners, and that’s true, but if you were in their place, would you try to push him? try to make him marketable and spend a lot of money on him? The answer is NO. At least i would try to recycle some R&B songs, not this, for sure.

  • Jake Williams

    This is beyond terrible!

  • Linda

Is anybody but me tired of the same beat on nearly every song that comes out? I started to listen to this but stopped as soon as I heard that same driving beat that haunts the radio these days. Sigh.

  • Popgirl

It’s nice, but a dime a dozen dance music. But this is not the type of music he won for. What is wrong with The Voice? They have huge ratings and don’t support their winners after they win. He was my favorite. I hope there’s better music than this on the album. Give me some soul, Jermaine. You sang with the great Alicia Keyes. Stay true to yourself.
