US Weekly reports that Jennifer Lopez wants Justin Bieber manager, Scooter Braun sitting next to her on the American Idol judges panel next season.
The insider tells Us that the 32-year-old talent manager has met with producers and returning judge Jennifer Lopez to discuss his possible role on the show. “Jennifer loves Scooter and feels he’d be an excellent choice,” the source says. “She would love him to be a judge.”
The only possible problem? The insider tells Us that Braun would want to manage the American Idol winner, but creator Simon Fuller already has the job.
And I’m already thinking I’m wasting my time putting up this post if Braun is insisting on managing the winner as part of his deal. There’s no way 19 is going to give up first dibs on managing their champions.
You may remember Braun from last season’s X Factor. He helped his client, Justin Bieber, mentor The Overs at L.A. Reid’s judges house.
Producer, Dr. Luke, is also in the running for the third seat, according to multiple sources. I wouldn’t be surprised if he lands it. There seem to be no impediments to his taking the spot. Will.i.am stopped negotiating when he hit a money snag with producers. Reportedly, he decided to return as coach to The Voice UK. US also reports Diddy was up for the job, but passed (on sitting next to his ex-girlfriend Jlo? Hm.). Also, Kanye West declined a spot as well.
During the recent Television Critics Association tour, FOX announced that Keith Urban would be returning to judge Idol. Jennifer Lopez’s return (after sitting out a year) isn’t confirmed, but multiple reports say that an announcement is imminent.
