This is the latest from the Chicago Tribune:

Balfour acknowledged being at the Hudson’s Englewood home on the morning that the actress’ mother, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson, were gunned down inside the house, law enforcement sources said. Julia Hudson’s son, Julian, was abducted from the home and his body discovered three days later, shot twice in the head and slumped in the back of Jason Hudson’s Chevy Suburban on a West Side street.

Balfour’s current girlfriend also told police that he told her he had been involved in the killings of Donerson and Hudson, sources said.

William Balfour has a parole hearing tomorrow morning.   If the board finds he hasn’t violated his parole, they could set him free. That is a very scary thought.

Oh goodness, that guy can’t be free..it’s a frightening thought..

It seems like the girlfriend’s testimony should be enough to charge him with the murders, along with the other evidence. Let’s hope so, for the family’s sake.

I suspect Balfour’s life won’t be worth much on the streets if he does get released. If he was involved, there are people who know it, especially if he had an accomplice. Dude may be better off in prison at this point. I suspect the CPD is working to get an airtight case before charging him so there won’t be any possible slipups. It’s pretty high profile and they can’t afford any missteps. Still, the idea that this guy could be released is pretty scary.

My gut tells me that’s exactly what’s happening. I doubt he’ll be released tomorrow.

I hate to be cynical, but Chicago is in the running for the 2016 Olympics. Anything high profile will be taken care of, one way or another. I’m guessing he will be held on previous charges or they will arrest him. They have enough circumstantial evidence to block his release, I would think.

    God, I hope so.

Maybe they are waiting until the hearing to see if he’s violated his parole before moving to arrest him. That way, they can continue to build the case while he’s still in custody. I’m betting that if he is released, he’ll be arrested immediately arrested. I still think he’s toast once he hits the street and I suspect the authorities know this as well, giving them added incentive to either keep him in custody or arrest him.
