I actually teared up watching that last night. Just something about watching the look on her face before she started singing - it was like "How did I get here? How did I get to be the person singing the anthem on a night like this?" Can you imagine? This is the girl with the weird hair and weirder clothes from Season 3. Big voice but totally unpolished, sparring with Simon because she didn't know enough to tame the Chicago back girl 'tude for the masses. LOL. And now she's a freaking Oscar winner opening for what could be the next president of the United States. No matter what her name is in history books now. Incredible. Go JHud! I am such a dweeb.
