Looks interesting. Probably a 2-hankie movie. Looks as though the cast is a good one. Music by Alicia Keys. I am going to check this out.

    wow this looks cool!!!!

Another Oscar for JHud? or at least a nomination? Looks like it could do something – it feels somewhat familiar to Beasts of the Southern Wild, even though it’s not as ‘fantasy’ as Beasts…

  • No Thanks

Oh geez! I started getting weepy just at the trailer. Looks like Oscar bait. JHud might prove that 1st Oscar wasn’t a fluke.

  • Beaugard Stevens

    That looks good

This looks very promising. I’m going to plan to see this when it comes to my area.

Entertainment Weekly posted a clip a couple of months ago of a scene with Jhud and she was really showcasing some strong acting chops. Even moreso than in Dreamgirls. She may get another nod for this because it sure doesn’t look to be happening with Winnie.

I did not know that one of Hollywood’s true hidden wonders, Jeffrey Wright was attached to this film. However, I am a little disappointed that Hudson is the “doped-up” character who continues to make the wrong choices.

JHud looks like Mary J Blige in that pic…

Looking forward to this .both Jordin and Jennifer have probably been involved with more movies than any others from Idol. Jennifer had a head start but Jordin has others coming as well as does Jennifer.

It says it’s an uplifting story… good. This is a feather in their cap (American Idol) and all can be very proud of Jennifer and Jordin. Looking forward to seeing this film.

this looks really really good and so does jennifers other movie that comes out thanksgiving. maybe idol should give her another look

Looking at Jennifer & Jordin, I think this is the direction Candice Glover needs to go in. I’m sure Candice will do okay in music but she might have a harder time trying to break through, I think going into acting would be an easier route for her she’ll be known for movies and then ppl will start being interested in her music.

I noticed that too. He was in the original Broadway production of Angels in America. A Broadway wonder, too. That is one of the things that made me think this might be a “cut-above” the average film. We know that jennifer can act. I am curious to see how Jordin does.

JHUD needs a boost because she’s been riding the Dream Girls praise for a bit too long and she’s dying down. Not too mention she lowered her standards by being in every other commerical for WeightWatchers and doing Lifetime movies.

  • Jordana33

Lifetime movies? Are you sure you’re not thinking about Fantasia, who did that Lifetime movie about her own life. JHud was in the Secret Life of Bees, Smash and Sex in the City.

  • Jordana33

This looks better than I expected. I’ll have to check it out.

Not talking about Fantiasia, Jhud stared in a lifetime movie this year…. She hasn’t been in anything that has been a hit since 2008. Wouldn’t call staring in Smash a high point either because the producers thought having Jennifer Hudson in the second season would give it the buzz the show needed, but the show just tanked

Shes in the new Winnie movie. Jennifer’s performance is getting good reviews even though the movie is being slaughtered by critics. She also has Black Nativity coming out in November opposite Forrest Whitaker and Mary j blige.

I don’t know if she’ll ever be able to reach the heights of Dreamgirls again but as long as she keeps putting in good performances, she’ll keep getting acting gigs.
