Whether Kris or Adam wins I hope they will be as gracious as the two Davids. I like Adam and think he is terrific but my favorite is Kris. Both seem to be very nice guys. I care less about all these celebs, rather just have other Idols.

I agree with you on his studio version of One. I believe I read that he mostly did the arrangement with some assistance as this song wasn’t in his comfort range. Anything Bono sings would be uncomfortable for anyone else. Just listen to Johnny Cash’s version of One. LOL!

Adam’s live version of One is similar to a duet performed by Bono/U2 and Mary J. Blige, so you can guess where the higher octave came. It’s on You Tube. There is no way anybody could do this song well in the 1:40 time that was allotted. It is a song that is around 4 minutes long.

Seems funny that this has been the Adam Lambert show until Adam allegedly landed in the bottom 2. Now it’s a horse race between Adam and “The other guy that’s not Adam”?”

Casual viewers don’t even know Kris’ name and half his fan base can’t even spell it!

I never thought it was a close race, nothing against Kris, but really the only way he’ll win is if somebody ties up Adam backstage and he misses all of his performances.

The shameless pimping? Special treatment? The desperate pleas from Simon trying to scare up some votes for Adam, Katy Perry’s cape, really?

My friend & I guessed 2 weeks ago that they were gonna throw Gokey under the bus when they kept saying “Danny’s never been in the bottom 3″. It’s all sooooo scripted.

Dial Idol is crap. Some weeks it didn’t even record the west coast votes. And a couple of weeks the geoprediction numbers for my state for Adam were less than the votes I cast by myself!

I can log 400 votes in 2 hours dialing manually using my redial button. If I didn’t have to wear braces, I could easily log another 200. In 4 hours I could manually dial 800-1000 votes.

So stay home, enjoy the last week of Adam on Idol and vote for 4 hours or however long your conscience guides you.

100 Million Votes for Adam! He’s the One!

I’ve been thinking about this voting problem since I fell into Adam fandom — after the Ring of Fire performance. I concluded that no one has any advantage in selecting a winner who does have the most support. Setting all the conspiracy theories aside, Standards and Practices would be on them like crazy again. Just like after AI2 (Clay v. Ruben).

The phone votes are constrained by the line capacity, so there is a limit to how many calls can come from one place. But it also means that if votes are limited due to phone capacity, and each candidate has separate lines (each with the same capacity), then the votes will by necessity be much more evenly spread than the electorate. So a runaway winner can turn into a coin-toss. This already happened in the infamous Clay-Ruben final. The expanded line capacity for AI3.

- Telescope, the firm that manages the voting system for AI stated that they now change phone line capacity in real time — that is while people are voting.

- They can identify blocks of calls originating from computer dialer firms and have said that if these call blocks change the outcome, they’ll throw them out.

- When AI allowed text, the whole playig field changed. Since there is no limit on texting as text messages just sit waiting to be counted, you can have 5,000 people texting 5,000 messages and get 25,000,000 votes. But these votes are tabulated separately, so excessive power voting can easily be identified,

- The fine print at the end of each show give them the right to throw out votes originating from “power voting”.

If TPTB wanted to solve this problem, all they need to do is change the way voting occurs:

1. Instead of assigning each contestant personal phone numbers, use the same numbers for all voting, and have voters select their favorite by pushing a button after the call has gone through. This simple fix would equalize the chance of encountering a busy signal for all callers.

2. Limit texting to a small number, perhaps 10 votes per phone line.

A couple of thoughts:

I think that Ring of Fire was clearly inspired by Dilana’s version but Adam dramatically changed the melody and it really a very different take of the song. Caution: If you didn’t like Adam’s RoF, you will HATE this cover.

His studio version of One has several melodic changes from the original composition that IMO make it far more interesting than the U2/Bono composition. He basically lifted an entire section of the melody 1/2 an octave. I don’t know who did the arrangement.

So if we look at finale night and his fan base vote continuously for 4 hours we are looking at a 1000 votes for a total of 62,000,000 votes for Adam. Kris’s town is mobilizing 52,000 people for a vote-a-thon at their stadium (watch the finale, then vote as long as they can), so lets say they manage 1000 each in 4 hours-that’s 52,000,000 votes without others voting throughout US.

If the casual voter does decide to vote that night, Adam could pick up another 1,000,000. But if Kris’s fanbase is bigger there could be an upset in the making if they continuously vote, like the tweens.

We need to band together and vote like crazy. I am not so versatile with the technology, but I will have my daughter voting texting for 4 hours and I on a landline. But we really need to rally. If you think my logic is nuts – tell me.

Allison would be better paired with Santana, heck she would be better off to sing alone. — Cyndi and Allison would be like scratching your nails across a chalk board.

Great recap Belle, of Adam’s awesome musical knowledge of what he wants to do with a song! I just saw a vid where Allison was praising him for all the help he had given her and other contestants when he could have been totally into just his personal performances and music as their time is very limited. From what I have seen and heard this season, Adam is definitely the “One!”
