Jason Castro to Appear on the ‘Bold and the Beautiful’

Jason Castro is set to appear on the CBS soap opera, The Bold and The Beautiful, according to Entertainment Weekly.

American Idol alum Jason Castro will make an appearance on CBS’ The Bold and The Beautiful in July. In an episode that he’ll tape next week at the sudser’s Los Angeles set, Castro will play himself and sing “Love Uncompromised” — a track off his self-titled debut album — in a scene involving Hope (Kimberly Matula) and Oliver (Zack Conroy).

Musicians routinely appear on CBS daytime soaps to showcase their work. Performers like Pat Benatar, Jewel, Enrique Iglesias, pianist Van Cliburn and opera singers Il Divo, for example, have dropped by The Young and the Restless, while Cyndi Lauper appeared on As The World Turns. Other big names to show up on The Bold and the Beautiful set: Daddy Yankee appeared on the soap this past week, and fellow Idol alum Constantine Maroulis was once a cast member of Bold and The Beautiful.

Constantine was a cast member for several months, playing a character based loosely on himself. He sang songs from his then-new album, and made a super cheesy video with his soap opera love interest. It’s not mentioned in the article, but Elliott Yamin appeared to sing a song in an episode that featured Constantine competing in a sing-off with one of the regular characters.

    I think Love Uncompromised is the best cut on the CD. I would love to see him take off because to me he is the best WGWG out of all the idols, and probably the most underated too.

    Confused with your article. The EW Hollywood Insider article I read did not say that Love Uncompromised is a new single.     That’s great exposure, no doubt about it. Is it still the no. 1-rated soap?

    And don’t forget Chikeze had a small role on General Hospital a year ago or thereabouts. Before he got in trouble with the law. (What ever came of that, I wonder?)

    I love soap operas….they are the only thing you can watch once every 5 years and if you hit the story line right you know exactly who everyone is and what they are doing…its like stopping the hands of time, and who doesn’t love that.

    So maybe someday someone can say about Jason…”I remember him in the soap opera”, like I remember Tom Selleck and Meg Ryan and Kate Mulgrew (the female Star Trekkie)Demi Moore,David Hasselhoff, Kevin Bacon, Ray Liotta,Kelsey Grammar, Marisa Tomei, Tommy Lee Jones, and who could forget Rick Springfield. Man…I’ve watched way too much TV in my life.

    Terrific ! The more exposure the better and especially tv performances. Jason’s appearance on The Bachelor gave his record a nice bump at that time.

    I don’t remember Usher singing, but he played a love interest of Amber! The actress used to date the guy from the Goo Goo Dolls. I think she’s on Y&R now. Ah, useless trivia.

    It isn’t mentioned in the article but Clay Aiken has also appeared and sang on several soaps. He was on the Days Of Our Lives Christmas eve episode in 2006 singing a song from his then new album for Patch and Kayla and they used his “O Holy Night” for the traditional tree trimming scene. He was also on All My Children in 2005 as a celebrity guest interview on Erica Cane’s new TV talk show. She interviewed him at his Good Morning America Summer Concert for her “show”.
