This video of Jason Castro performing “White Christmas” at his hometown church on Christmas eve was captured from the official Lake Pointe Church DVD of the service.

It’s quite the musical extravaganza, with a stage set to look like a city park, with Christmas trees, background singers sitting on park benches and Jason strolling over fake snow.

I really enjoy his version of White Christmas, even though I’m mostly sick of that song. Love the lyrics on the screen so we can sing along at home, LOL. Hope we get some more original music from Jason soon.

Please don’t laugh at me for saying this, but I wouldn’t be suprised if Jason went into the ministry (as in clergy) or something along that line eventually, somewhere in the future. I felt that way before seeing “I Am Second” even. There’s just something about him, can’t explain.

I wont laugh at you Judy and that would be a wonderful thing for Jason also! I just love him and loved this video, thanks MJ

  • Squirrelly

I like Jason a lot. I really appreciated his Hallelujah song. I hope he can make a career out of music, or the ministry if he so decides. :thumbup_tb:

My heart will always belong to Jason

Umm. Jason is a generous guy for doing that? Yes, indeed.

  • ShariG

This was really nice. I love his expressions when he sings. Very pretty version of the song. His church must have a lot of resources to put on this kind of holiday concert. Very nice.

  • sunchick

I think it’s adorable that Jason embraces the uke so fully now. It suits him. Dang, that church gives Radio City a run for it’s money with the stage decor.

  • JudyOhio

The Southern Baptist churches in the south, particularly Texas, are HUGE. My brother goes to Second Baptist of Houston and it’s massive. They have big budgets for sure and can put on quite a production when they want to.

  • Grammie Kari

What a lovely production. I can really see Jason as having much more confidence in himself since the beginning of Season 7.

Judy, is it possible that you pick up the spiritual side of Jason? He was “voted” most laid back of the group, and there is something I felt from the beginning. Maybe not many (male) singers possess this quality?

I read somewhere that 100% of what is collected during the 4 Christmas Eve Services is donated to the community in the form of food banks, clothing, housing, etc for those in need. And in years past, they have never had to turn away a request based on the generous donations of the congregation during these 4 services. The church seats 5000-6000 and I heard it was standing room only, so hopefully that means a happy holiday for the homeless in the Dallas area. It’s nice that Jason could be part of this.

I liked the preformance of Jasons Castros and did enjoy his layed back attitude on American Idol also which comes to no surprise. I do hope he comes out with a cd along with Brooke soon and maybe a complematary cd for relaxation called “Just Chill Folks”.

Thanks for putting up the video, MJ. Jason seems happy to be happy performing at his church again. I loved the performance and the scene.

Thanks for posting the bulletin, rereader.

This skit of Jason with the two Pastors (right after he performed) is fun and very cute.

poporange, I am one of the fans that wants to see Brooke and Jason on tour next year. We have a perfect setting for their genre of music which has been described as folk pop, folk rock, and folk music.

This is the same facility that Carole King perfomed with her piano and her ‘living room setting’. Add a stool, and it is the perfect atmosphere for intimacy with the audience.

How wonderful that Jason is able to help others.

ETA: It is now January 1, 2009. HAPPY NEW YEARS!
