I remember Jason telling the AI Extra host, when he was on after his elimination, that they had not kept up the relationship due to them going to school in different states. So I am not sure if that means that they had dated before Idol. But then they decided to give it a shot when he was on the show. That is when she had given him a promise ring, which he has been wearing in his hair. I am so happy for them. Congrats, Jason and Mandy!:-D

He turned 22 on March 25. I remember his age because my oldest son is now 22, which he turned in January, . Yes, several Idols seem to get married young. Phil Stacey married his wife, Kendra, when she was pretty much out of high school. He had by then completed a year of college. Brooke White, I believe, is also in her early 20′s, and she of course, was already married when on Idol. Kristy Lee will be getting married soon, if she is not already. She is also in her early 20s, I believe. Off-topic, but I keep misplacing the quotation marks. I am still trying to get the hang of them.

Congrats to them! I can’t say I’m surprised since he definitely seems to be the settle down type. But I’m already tired of the stupid blog/fan headlines that he’s committing career suicide by getting engaged. Seriously? Are you supposed to stay single just to please your fans?

Agreed. I believe that the more support you have, the better off you are when you take on a music career. Many are successful at it. Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are one example, and I’m sure there many others that I cannot even remember now, lol. I know I mention Phil Stacey a lot, but he is my favorite Idol, and he has a very strong support system. He will be the first to say that he would not be where he is if it weren’t for his wife. And Kris Allen is another one who is married. I do not see it as career suicide at all.

Congrats to Jason! He is a great guy. Really happy for him.

Oh, that’s great! So happy for them. I’m glad he’s with someone he knew before fame. I had a nice, long conversation with her at Jason’s first post-idol concert in Tulsa. She was very sweet. She made a point of introducing herself and asking my name. She seemed to have no problem with the hundreds of girls in line for his attention and completely stayed out of the limelight. I think it’s a great match.

Those fans of Jason’s may be jealous that they are not the one he is marrying. A true fan, I feel, will be happy for their favorite. Plus, if they knew about him and Mandy before, they should have had an inkling that this could happen.

The out of control “fan”, shennch, is a teenager in Asia. Two of the other names that I recognize making negative comments are also teens.

I couldn’t care less whether someone I’m a fan of is married or not although I think it helps them to be more stable in their life if they are!!
