From TMZ (Hello Jacob! Meet Bus!)

It all started back in February 2009 — when cops cited Jacob for riding on an L.A. metro train without buying a ticket. Jacob blew off his court hearing and an arrest warrant was issued.

Fast forward to Nov. 2010 — a day after Jacob auditioned for “Idol” and got his golden ticket to Hollywood — Lusk was pulled over for a traffic stop. The cop discovered the warrant and arrested him.

Jacob went to jail and then to court the next day and pled no contest to the train-hopping charge.  He was sentenced to 3 days in jail and 2 years probation.

Jacob served his time and then went back to court, telling the judge “Idol” wouldn’t let him on the show if he was on probation.  After his emotional plea, the merciful judge terminated his probation.

Fun Fact – On night one in the pokey, Jacob sang to 170 inmates, who liked it a lot.  Thing is, the guard wasn’t a fan, screaming through the loud speaker, “This isn’t a f**king singing contest.”

Undaunted, we’re told Lusk sang over the next day-and-a-half, preparing for “Idol.”  And on his last day, Lusk sang a farewell song, and another guard went on the loud speaker and said it was “bad ass!”

TMZ isn’t posting this stuff without the producer’s blessing. Jacob must be getting enough votes to threaten their favs.  Not that he did anything terrible here, but I don’t think mug shots and jail time are ever good PR.

Lol, this is just funny. I don’t think it’ll help or hurt Jacob, but it was kind of amusing to read.

    The bottom line here.

Personnally i dont think TMZ waits for anyone’s approval to post the dirt they find.
I wonder how come Jacob tried to get a free ride. If there’s some circunstances, I will understand. If it’s for not having to pay, that would be douche. Anyway not showing up was totally douche!

Hmmm… I smell fish somewhere. LOL.

I have the strangest feeling that this should serve as a warning to all the voters… not to vote for him next week!!!

    Hope I am wrong.

Yeah, I’m inclined to agree. For instance, if they had some juicy dirt on one of the favorites, I believe Nigel could beg and plead, and they’d still print it.

What do you mean by this?

I think the timing is suspicious. The court stuff should have been an easy search by TMZ, something they would have done after seeing Jacob’s name on the Top 24 list and that he was from LA area. Why is it being published now? Especially a week after the show gave him a terrible “holier than thou” edit in his intro. I think Nigel, on his return to Idol, considers TMZ to be tool for manipulation, rather then an adversary. The show sure seems to be buddy-buddy with TMZ this year.

This just annoys me to no end. Poor Jacob. I hope this blows over because it is not that big a deal. oh well.

Oh yes, Jacob is most certainly being “bussed”. The timing of this story coupled with the unfavorable edit he has been receiving the past couple of weeks all add up to the producers wanting Jacob gone ASAP. So far the tricks seem to be working at least when it comes to the online Idol world of the blogs and message boards. Jacob is just the latest African-American male Idol finalist to be painted as a “villain”. It happened with Chikezie early on, it happened with that other guy Jermaine with the gospel/church background (he was labeled an arrogant diva too)-it seems to happen almost every season.

Lately, he seems depressed and solemn.

Considering all the grief he has been getting over that comment he made, I can’t say I’m surprised that he’s appears so solemn and depressed. I can’t blame him for that. I’m sure he’s been reading all the negativity he’s been getting. It’s easy to say “suck it up” and just ignore it, but that’s easier said than done sometimes. A big part of me hopes he goes home soon just so the pressure will be off of him. Hopefully he can go on to have a decent career in gospel music performing in front of audiences who will appreciate him and his talent.

Maybe Jacob should have performed “Ticket to Ride” during Beatles week ;)

I still don’t get the 3 day sentence. Even blowing off a court hearing for a minor offense should result in nothing more than a bigger fine. And, why 2 years probation? That, incidentally, is more than most people get for their first DUI offense.I still don’t get the 3 day sentence. Spenser, I was wondering if Jacob had some minor trouble as a juvenile (under 16) which may have been considered when given this sentence?

Stefano hasn’t been doing any preaching on the show, so maybe his offense is less offensive. He seems like a heck of a nice guy.

I do believe the leak came from Idol. Doing a Clay Aiken classic didn’t do him it nor did the scolding from Jimmy. I believe Idol would like Jacob off the show.

The story on the TMZ tv show was actually very positive, if a mug shot and jail time story can be positive. However I do agree it is an attempt by TPTB to push Jacob out the door. And since Jacpb was never going to win this thing, I think it is a hateful thing to do.
