EDIT:  Major correction to be made here. Jacob Lusk is NOT Joshua Ledet. No he is not.

Season 10 finalist, Jacob Lusk teased his fans with some intel about his upcoming album.

I hope everybody’s watching I’m gonna post a tweet then I’m deleting it in 120secs

A secret tweet!

I’m currently being managed by Gladys knight and her team. I’ve been working on my album with some amaze balls producers…And I might just have a record deal…CAN’T SAY YET

And, yep. He quickly deleted it. I’m assuming Jacob has no idea that it’s virtually impossible to really “delete” a tweet. Oops.

Nevertheless…congratulations Jacob!

I’m confused. It says Season 11 contestant Jacob Lusk, but Jacob was on Season 10 and it has a pic of Joshua instead…So is it Jacob, or Joshua? lol

  • Larc

nvm – John S beat me to it. :)

  • justmefornow

Maybe they are actually the same person, have you ever seen them together? lol

Wow mj. I think my feelings are hurt. Please tell me you have an intern that messed this up. **sheds tear**

Well, so all the Top11 from S10 got a record deal (except for Thia and Paul, who preferred a wedding deal).

That’s exactly 9 record deals. Is it a record of record? lol

    Hahahaha! Funniest blooper ever!

    I’m laughing so hard :D

  • justmefornow

I like Paul’s deal the best, no touring required :)

I’m pretty sure if Jacob and Joshua ever sang a song together, it would open a black hole that would suck up anything in it’s path. :P

They’re very similar, so I could see how it’s easy to confuse them. Joshua is way better though. And he didn’t tell me to look in the mirror like Jacob did, lol.

Well, with only 47k followers and nobody remembering him anymore there was actually a possibility that nobody would notice. Then he would write again his tweet  with capital letters and wait 240 secs until delete it. lol

They are similar in the way that a New York strip steak is similar to a Quarter Pounder. Both are beef.

Giant BRAIN FART. Sorry. I’m not even sure how that happened, except that I’m kind of burnt out on blogging at the moment.

Woo! Way to strike when the buzz is in his favor!

Not sure what he’s been doing, but it is nice to hear that Gladys Knight gave him some continued support after they performed at the finale together that year.

She was one of the highlights of the show for me that time. As was Reba this year. So AI, hey, maybe a lesson – put on some more seasoned female performers who know what the heck they are doing vs. the lip-synching poptarts. Just a thought.

I was seriously thinking (hoping, praying, dreaming, surmising, assuming…) we, as a nation, were never going to be subjected to Jacob Lusk ever again. Not fair at all.

Jacob. lol. I remember when he was on Idol and Ryan was interviewing him and he said something like he wasn’t worried because “America loves me.” Then he said something about how if he doesn’t make it through that we all need to look in the mirror. lol. Good luck Jacob, I’m sure your album will be full of vocal melisma. lol

Well, not a fan of either dude….but let’s just say that Joshua (season 11) actually has talent.

Well, I’m one of those who follows Jacob on Twitter and he’s mentioned before that Gladys’s management team is helping him, and he’s been working on an album for some time. I think/hope they’re getting close to scheduling it.

I am SO glad that Jacob is going to get an album. I bought all of his Idol songs and his EP. He’s one of the main reasons I started watching last year. Loved his audition with God Bless the Child, http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/videos/jacob-lusk-god-bless-the-child/, loved his enthusiasm throughout, as well as his voice. And he did great on tour. Gave it all he had.

I think he had very little performing experience coming in, and zero media experience, and was perhaps a bit naive. And Idol gave him edits that didn’t help him at all – especially the Man in the Mirror thing. The way it came out sounded as if he was putting down others and I’m positive he didn’t mean it that way at all. And Jimmy sure didn’t help.

Yes, he needed some help in learning how to control his voice, but I thought that is what Idol was looking for – raw talent. Jacob has it in spades.

And I will buy his album the second it comes out.

And I don’t see any reason to compare him to Joshua other than that they both can sing really well.

I like both of the “Js” and wish them the best of luck moving forward. I would consider buying music from either one of them.

“And Idol gave him edits that didn’t help him at all … ” Hmm, seems that Idol has tried that once or twice before in earlier seasons.

    Congrats to Jacob.

I’ve been hoping to hear something good for Jacob.  I enjoyed both his and Joshua’s music.  If their last songs in their respective finales are any indication of future music though, I’ll be looking more forward to Jacob’s music than Joshua’s.  Hopefully, that was just a fluke though, as I think both could have careers with the right managers.

Congrats to Jacob!  This is the market I don’t know well:  Maybe it will be a big hit in that market.

Remembering Jessica vs Jennifer confusion that Jimmy had, too. There are a lot of ‘J’ names.

Oh, regular viewers are well aware of the edits and scripted moments.  Many past contestants have spoken about them.

When Jacob was on the show, I thought he’d have a great stage voice once he learned to control his voice.  I am not sure about Joshua, but then you never know.  I wish them both good luck with their careers.
