I can’t get to any of the performances on iTunes… When I click on one of the songs it tells me the request cannot be completed and the song is not available? Is this happening to anyone else or is it just my computer?

I haven’t been able to get the studio recordings either, Victoria.

Bought Kris’, Matt’s, and Danny’s. Danny did the gospel version, just like I thought. Nothing changed. I didn’t like Kris & Matt’s as much as I did their live performances. I guess I’ll buy Allison’s to justify the money I think I just wasted.

Is it just me or did it take forever for these to come out? Actually I’m still not sure if my preorder is available yet…by the time I went to bed last night it wasn’t out.

Okay, it seems you can buy the studio recordings, but you can’t preview them. Ugh. Went ahead and bought Adam’s because I figured I had nothing to lose, but I hate to not preview them ahead of time. WTF, iTunes!

This kid really impresses me. Last year I was pretty much rooting for Cook and Castro right out of the gate, but Jason kind of lost me as the season wore on. I loved his whole shtick, and he sang the kind of music I listened to most often, but he seemed to not be preparing adequately and he lost me.

Kris, OTOH, keeps raising the bar and impressing me. He doesn’t have the best voice, but I love his musicality and professionalism. This is the part that reminds me so much of Cook. I would love for Kris and Allison to join Adam in the Top 3.

All I get is an iTunes page asking me to download Version 8 – AS IF I DON”T HAVE iTUNES on my pc!

Something is screwed up over at iTunes, I hope.

I thought it was interesting that not only has Kris been selling more than Danny (well, at least since the last time iTunes updated the iMix popularity bars), but also that the Top 5 contestants are generally the Top 5 sellers in downloads.

Also, thank goodness I changed my overall pick in the pool to Adam. Looks like he’s running away with this.

I know, right? I can really feel him on this track. On first listen, it seemed a tad slow to me, but after hearing again, not at all. It is his longest track too, sort of adds to the intense longing he’s communicating. Really really good.

This doesn’t surprise me. Sooner or later, Danny’s samey-sameyness is going to come back to bite him in that big ass of his.

Danny is a velveeta factory completely lacking in creativity. Kris seems to be a singer with the heart of a musician and a vast frame of musical reference in his teeny tiny head.

Although I know it will be hard to overtake the effects of Gokey’s early pimpage, I’ll be somewhat disappointed in America if they don’t recognize that musical ingenuity should always trump air humping.

I admire Kris’s musicianship but I’m not into his actual singing. Still, I really hope he sticks around until Top 3. The thought of having to watch the Gokey celebrating himself at his homecoming makes me queasy

I’ve only bought Anoop’s so far….and that’s probably all I’ll buy this week. I wasn’t thrilled with many of the songs this week. I can’t believe this is Anoop’s last track for the season….sniff sniff….don’t mind me…I’m still in mourning.
Once again, I love his recording. It makes me want to dance and his voice sounds as smooth as ever. Please, someone put the guy on the radio!

WOW!! Why arent more people talking about Matt Giraud’s studio??? I just listened to them all (on youtube there is no way I will spend my money without knowing if I will like the whole song) And I thought that MATT’s rocked. That was the best studio that I have heard from him, and that is saying a lot as Matt always does amazing in studio recordings, It stayed true to the feel of disco, and added touches hip-hop and the “current” sound, so much so that it became something that I would love dancing to in the club!!lol. It was increadible!!! And I personally love the “screaming” maybe he is channeling his inner Adam.

And for the record, I’m not surprised. Before this, I was looking at the number of RATINGS each contestant was getting for their song, and Adam was clearly kicking everyone’s a$$ up and down the block.

Sumi, I am over the moon with Adam, but I didn’t love this weeks studio recording. Which means I am gonna have to buy the show version, the basterds! They are gonna make a mint on me!

Anoop on the other hand OMG, that was brilliant. They screwed him over, and the save screwed him out of his top 5 finish, and that sliding pay scale for the tour? Anyway will stop pouting and bitching, but he sings like a dream.

I just downloaded Adams song from this week at ITunes…..If I Cant Have you……holy shitsaloo…… He is freaking crazy and unequivically effing genius on this track.

Adams track is marvelous and after the third listen, I found my face wet. My eyes were leaking.

My eyes leak a lot these days, they tell me something about post menopausal hormones but shit, that song puts me to the floor every time. Last Tuesday I was a effing mess.

Just bought Anoop’s studio this week. His phrasing is perfect, he hit the glory notes, and of course his sexy vocals. Fave and probably one of his best studios of the season. It surely does sound radio-friendly:)

Anoop’s recording is absolutely beautiful! If there is (was…ugh!) a contestant that can make it big in the industry because of his radio-friendly voice, it’s DEFINITELY Anoop! Everything about this week’s recording (as every other recording) is perfect! Idol just lost the most marketable and current individual, because alas…he’s not a “package artist”. Just purchased Kris’recording. His vocals are actually better than Falling Slowly (IMO) but the arrangement is too cheesy (once again, the band doesnt know when to cut back). Is ricky minor over-seeing each recording? it seems someone is steering some of these studio versions in the wrong direction.

I hear ya about the band over doing it. They ruined Adam’s tracks of My Tears IMO. The emotion is gone and all thats left are horns.

I was all balling and puddling up after this weeks performance. Jeez, that aint right at all.

Anyone interested in the genius of the Motown studio band, rent the DVD “Standing in the Shadows of Motown” that traces the history of the studio band interspersed with a live concert. Outstanding stuff.

The 1965 recording technology wasn’t the best. That era was probably recorded on a two-track recorder. But, those cats could play.

I loved the Motown sound, grew up on it, ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was truly genius and in a league all by itself. I just hate the arrangement on Adams Tracks Of My Tears.

Hated it.

I finally made an Idol iTunes purchase this year and it was Kris. While the vocals are good, the band needs to cut back. I loved the stripped down live version much better.

It’s certainly no crime to hate the arrangement on Smokey Robinson & the Miracles Tracks of My Tears.

Pesonally, I find the recording fascinating. I like to listen to Smokey’s vocal and Adam’s vocal (with the exact same track) back to back.

I love Anoop’s recording this week. I think it may be my new favorite. :wub_tb: I have all of his and 1 each of Allison, Danny, and Matt. I’m not sure if I’ll be buying any more now that he’s gone.

I bought Kris’s and Allison’s this week. Kris’s is nice but I think I like the live one better.

Allison’s is just amazing. Girl just has an incredible voice. I liked her live version too but I think the studio is better. It has the fire that the live version, good though it was, never seemed to quite get to consistently.

You know, while I loved Allison’s vocals on the show this week, I wasn’t completely fond of the arrangement, but I have to say that hearing it on the studio track…I LOVE it. And, as always, her vocals are awesome.

I also love Kris’ track. But I think I liked the live performance more. Nothing of his fault, though. Simply because I really loved the part in the live performance where everything except the bongos dropped out. They took that out in the studio performance and that makes me sad.

Still love my Kris, though.

I bought Matt’s song and I love it.
And I have to say I hate “Staying Alive”, always had but he really made it his own and much more in the studio version.

The song sound sso current and fresh and Matt’s vocals are outstanding as usual. That speaks volumes of Matt’s potential.

Go Matty G! I still believe in you. I hope you make it much longer than people expect you too. I hope he has a moment next week and keeps on going.

Yeah, I think I’m going to have to buy the performance vid for Kris. The studio isn’t nearly as good. I’m sure I’ll still listen to it though, because I didn’t initially like the studio version of , “How Sweet It Is”, but after listening to it with the other downloads I have on him, it’s grown on me. Same with, “Do You Remember”. I just simply love his voice, but acoustic Kris FTW!

I’ve heard a lot of folks complain about this problem on a number of downloads this season, and yet Kris’s vocals come through loud and clear on mine. I wonder if it has to do with the default iTunes settings? Check out this link for improving the equalizer settings on iTunes:

I gave in, and based on a few of the reviews here purchased Adam’s “If I can’t Have You.” Wow. Gorgeous. He records really well. I thought the wailing was OTT on the performance night but the recording was beautiful.

I’m going to hold off on buying Kris’ recording. I really liked the live version and may opt for that instead.

Hi Bootstar, thanks for the heads up. I clicked on your link, but it didn’t work. Then I copied and pasted the title into my google search engine. I had the page up, went to itunes, pulled up the equalizer, adjusted it and then synched my ipod. Will this do it?

That iTunes equalizer setting is ghastly. It will make everything sound like you are kicking a cardboard box with your foot and jangling your car keys with your hand. Horrid.
