UPDATE: a twitterpeep spotted Carrie shooting a scene sitting in a Rolls Royce with her husband Mike Fisher. Looks like he’s got a part!

“I JUST SAW CARRIE UNDERWOOD FILM HER NEW VIDEO IN NASHVILLE. IN SHOCK RIGHT NOW:)… She was in a Rolls Royce with husband Mike Fisher”

Recent chatter on the internet suggests that Carrie Underwood is shooting the music video for her next single in Nashville.

This facebook entry, is one example:

“Great jazz at the Frist tonight, all the while having crews set up to shoot the new Carrie Underwood music video, using The Frist interior as their backdrop!”

The Frist, is a visual arts center and museum in Nashville that shows art, photography and vintage clothes.

Carrie confirmed that her next single will be “Mama’s Song”  in this Today show backstage video from her recent Summer Concert Series appearance.

Carrie co-wrote “Mama’s Song with Kara Dioguardi, Luke Laird, and Marti Frederiksen and is a wedding song from the perspective of a daughter telling her Mama not to worry, that the guy she’s marrying is a good man who treats her right.

The perfect pick for the newly-married Carrie. Yes?

Big thanks to Windmills

Oh, Mama’s Song. The best thing about it is how beautiful Carrie sounds when she sings it. The lyrics leave something to be desired. But it’s pretty and it reflects Carrie’s life right now. It’ll be interesting seeing how it does on country radio because it’s not one of those songs that gets by on a really catchy beat or radio friendly hook which is why I think a lot of Carrie fans didn’t want it as a single. The main thing to sell it is the emotions in Carrie’s voice.

The video’ll be interesting too. Will Carrie’s mom make her 2nd guest appearance in a Carrie video? Will Mike be in it? In concert, Carrie plays the piano when she performs this and there’s a photo montage on the screens that goes from her childhood through her AI audition and culminates in a really cute picture of her and Mike sitting on a deck or a boat with a lake behind them (probably from Mike’s cottage near Peterborough Ontario).

Totally agree with you windmills. Carrie’s emotions really shine through in this song and I think it’s one of her best vocals. I guess we’ll see if this breaks her #1 streak but no matter where it ends up on the chart, kudos to her for choosing to follow her heart instead of making sure to pad her #1 streak. But it’s Carrie, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it still made it to the top of the charts.

I hope nobody really cares if it isn’t as huge a hit as some of her other stuff. (It’s all relative in Carrie’s case anyway; girl has the Midas touch.) I think this is a lovely song she sings beautifully, and I much prefer it to most of her “huge hits.”
