Billy Mays Had Heart Disease, Medical Examiner Says

Hillsborough County Medical Examiner Vernard Adams said Mays suffered from hypertensive heart disease, and the wall of the left ventricle of Mays’ heart and the wall of one of his arteries were enlarged.

“The heart disease is perfectly consistent with sudden death,” Adams said.

An official cause of death will be issued after toxicology and other tests are completed in eight to 10 weeks.

If his seat belt was unfastened or loosely fastened and he flew up in his seat and hit the overhead rack…this, too, would be negligence on the airlines part. Flight attendants MUST check before landing that all passengers are buckled in.

But if neither of these prove to be the case then it may be difficult to prove. A hemmorage is caused when the skull goes one direction and the brain goes another and then collide when things get back to normal. A simple fall, a slip and trying “to catch yourself”, bumping your head, all can cause this problem.

Either way, it will be a very difficult case to “win” regardless of the circumstances. I am sure that thousands die of this every year and, hopefully, it won’t become the medical litigation that “news” sites are stirring up.

Also, the news about Walter Cronkite is indeed sad but not tragic. Hopefully his last days are calm and sweet. The man is 92 and he has lived a wonderful, wonderful life. Two events in my life will always be associated with him: the walk on the moon, and the day of JFK’s assasination.

Not to be dismal, but has anyone read about Walter Cronkite? That is going to be a very very sad day.

Television’s most famous news anchor is seriously ill.

Walter Cronkite, once considered the most trusted man in America, is suffering from cerebrovascular disease “and is not expected to recuperate,” his family said in a statement.

The family said it was forced to speak out “to dispel false rumors.” Last week news reports stated the 92-year-old former CBS News stalwart was in grave condition.

Cerebrovascular disease affects the blood vessels in the brain, according to WebMD, and is often caused by high blood pressure.

“He is resting comfortably at home with family, friends and a wonderful medical team. We thank you for your prayers and good wishes.”
