Idols Talk Post Idol Plans and More At Staples Center

Lyndsey Parker of Yahoo Music does her usual fabulous job interviewing Lee DeWyze, Casey James, Michael Lynche and Aaron Kelly before the Los Angeles Idols Live show at the Staples center last week.

The news of Casey James’ Sony Nashville signing had just broke, and Lyndsey asks him if his debut album will be country, “It is in Nashville, but there’s a lot of stuff out that there that I wouldn’t consider traditional country by any stretch of the imagination. It’s going to be what I’ve always done. Texas music–a mix of rock, country, blues, soul, funk, whatever…anything that’s good, it’s going to be on there…lots of guitar, good melody lines, good lyrics.”

And Aaron Kelly tells Lyndsey he’ll  be working on his debut album with Taylor Swift’s producer, Nathan Chapman and his wife Stephanie.  A label has already reached out to the team. In fact, the nephew of the label chief said to his uncle  about Aaron, after attending an Idol show, “This kid is phenomenal, you’ve got to see him.” No meetings have taken place yet.

UPDATE: Part 2 of Lyndsey’s interview with the Idols is now upTim Urban will go right into the studio after the tour to lay down some tracks. He hopes to have an album out by the end of the year.  Andrew Garcia also plans to release an album as soon as possible, probably independently. Katie Stevens hopes to land a record deal and eventually release an album. coming later. Didi Benami almost sang, “I Need You Now” by Lady Antebellum on tour.

Unfortunately, Crystal Bowersox and Siobhan Magnus were not available for interviews.
