    “82 Clay Aiken

    Nov. 29, 2012: Durham, N.C.; Durham Performing Arts Center; 1,459 of 1,953 (75%): $65,326 ”

The full capacity of the Durham Performing Arts Center is 2,700, but the balcony seats weren’t available from the start of sales. A pretty decent-sized audience for Clay’s hometown, however down substantially since Clay last played in Raleigh a little over 2 years ago (when he taped his PBS Special).

From the iTunes chart positions of her songs and how fast they are falling, I don’t think it looks good for Cassadee Pope.  Is that song new and meant to be the coronation song?  (I don’t pay much attention to The Voice so I don’t really know if they do coronation songs.)

  • bestmusic

Very decent considering concert with kids featuring Scotty only sold 2000. Scotty just off AI with a new Christmas album.

  • http://twitter.com/LexieONeill Lexie O’Neill

I think those numbers with Scotty are a bit misleading…Scotty had just had two solo shows in Raleigh the month before–both sold out.  Not too many people are going to pay to see the same performer twice in one month (some three times since a number went to both of the state fair shows).

Plus, if I had a choice between a solo show and one where my fave only performed a few shows…I’m picking the solo.:)

  • bestmusic

I was not saying that Scotty`s numbers were bad. I was just using them as a comparison to say that Clay`s numbers are good for someone who does not have an album to promote at this moment.

  • fuzzywuzzy

Scotty isn’t “just off AI”. He’s from the year before the most recent season.

  • fuzzywuzzy

Actually, Clay’s attendance at this Christmas tour is generally better than when he toured to promote Tried and True back in 2011.

  • http://twitter.com/LexieONeill Lexie O’Neill

I understand…I was just explaining–to myself as well.:)  By the way, those NC State fair shows were 5K each.  And Scotty’s slated to perform at the same fair again next year.:)

    And good for Clay.

”JUST OFF” closer than Clay is what I meant. How about almost just off.

Yeah there’s a typo at Roughstock on Blown Away’s album sales this week too – based on where it is on the chart it sold 41k not 31k. The 1.108 million total for the album is correct.

Here are blog relevant download numbers from the country chart via Roughstock:

Cassadee Pope, Stupid Boy 117k (117k)
Hunter Hayes, Wanted 42k (1.988 million) (<- double platinum next week)
Carrie Underwood, Blown Away (song) 28k (1.465 million)
    Raelynn, Boyfriend 27k (27k)
    Hunter Hayes, Somebody's Heartbreak 24k (194k)
Cassadee Pope, Over You 17k (224k)
Sam Palladio/Clare Bowen, When The Right One Comes Along 17k (38k)
    Connie Britton/Hayden Panettiere, Wrong Song 17k (17k)
Carrie Underwood, Two Black Cadillacs 15k (80k)

Hazehel: From the iTunes chart positions of her songs and how fast they are falling, I don’t think it looks good for Cassadee Pope. Is that song new and meant to be the coronation song? (I don’t pay much attention to The Voice so I don’t really know if they do coronation songs.)

No, these are all covers (Stupid Boy is a Keith Urban cover, Over You is a Miranda Lambert cover). They didn’t do coronation songs this season.

The weekend HITS report predicts 90-100k for Phillip.

LUCIE: And of course the extra 5000 sales of Christmas With Scotty McCreery from QVC are not included in this total.

Are you sure? I know I’ve seen HITS and Billboard include QVC sales in estimates and final sales for Lionel Richie’s Tuskegee (Billboard link), and they did that for Susan Boyle and many others too.

  • LongKissGoodnight

YOUR TOP 15: It’s beginning to look a lot like (a Taylor Swift) Christmas. The Big Machine superstar will remain at #1 next week as we approach the final weekend before Christmas. Tomorrow marks the release of the Les Mis?rables soundtrack, just ahead of the film’s Christmas Day release; the Hugh Jackman-Anne Hathaway OST may provide a challenge to Swift the following week, on the final chart of 2012. It may all come down to the onslaught of iTunes gift card redemptions, which could reach record levels this year. Meanwhile, Capitol’s Essential Now That’s What I Call Christmas rockets up the chart and into Top 15 contender status, thanks to 99 cent pricing from Amazon MP3.
Here’s the picture as we head into the weekend, assuming the Mayan
apocalypse doesn’t prevent us from having one:

    Taylor Swift (Big Machine) 270-295k
    One Direction (Syco/Columbia) 150-175k
    Bruno Mars (Atlantic) 150-175k
    * T.I. (Grand Hustle/Atlantic) 150-175k
    Michael Buble (Reprise) 140-160k
    Rod Stewart (Verve) 120-135k
    * 12/12/12: The Concert For Sandy Relief (Columbia) 95-110k
    Phillip Phillips (19/Interscope) 90-100k
    Mumford & Sons (Glassnote) 80-90k
    Alicia Keys (RCA) 80-90k
    Now 44 (Capitol) 70-80k
    P!nk (RCA) 70-80k
Essential Now That’s What I Call Christmas (Capitol) 70-80k
    Adele (XL/Columbia) 70-80k
    Justin Bieber (Island/IDJ) 65-75k
    Lady Antebellum (Capitol Nashville) 65-75k
Blake Shelton (Warner Bros. Nashville) 65-75k
    Jason Aldean (Broken Bow) 65-75k

Holly-molly… This is better then my most optimistic projections!
    Sweet… :)
This should put “World’ in 467-477K range. Than we will see where one day of pre-Christmas sales and gift card redemption plus ‘exchange the physical album you got for album you want’ practice will do for him.

The half a million scanned might be achievable by the end of the year yet.

    That is exiting!))

Holy Crap!  90-100K for P2. Insane. Again I have underestimated him. Gold in 2012 is going to happen. Next stop platinum. Not even kidding.

This week on Billboard brought Home a bunch of new peaks (last peak position):
    Radio Songs: #9 (#10)
    Adult Pop: #1 (#2)
    Pop Songs: #8 (#9)
    Alternative: #39 (-)
    Japan Hot 100: #70 (#96)

And a few slides (last week position):
    Digital Songs: #11 (#9)
    Hot 100: #8 (#7)

Home holds strong at #2 on Rock Songs.
And since #1 is none other then ‘Ho Hey’ smash I expect Phillip to take silver for a string of weeks before eventually getting replaced by Ed Sheeran’s “The A Team”.

And  finally the “The World from the Side of the Moon” holds #1 Rock Albums for the 4th week (all the way since it’s release) an rebounds #9->#7 on BB200 (it’s 4th week in top 10 BB200).
