Those are some good numbers for Fantasia, especially since this is her first headlining tour.

Of course, Carrie is amazing as always.

    Totally agree. Good for Fantasia!

  • bridgette12

Carrie alays have great concert numbers. Happy that Fantasia is headlining and bringing in good crowds.

  • tinawina

This is a difficult time of year to pull in good numbers, so congrats to both ladies!

  • standtotheright

    Congrats to both of them.

The more time that passes with sparse or no additional AI summer tour reports, the more I suspect TPTB at Idol have taken steps to suppress as much of that data as they can.

I’d say you are 100% right!

Not surprised by that little write-up on Carrie. I’ve been sitting in awe of her concert stats for months now. Seems like she puts on quite a show, and I’ve yet to hear one person say they didn’t enjoy her show– got me wanting to see her live now! I don’t love country, but I do love Carrie…

  • Q3

    Great numbers for Fantasia!

I got to see her summer 2009 when she co-headlined the Memorial Day Concert in Columbus, MS. She was fantastic live and one of my fav Idol concert performances — and I have seen many of the Idol alums post Idol.

  • luly

Great numbers for Carrie and very good numbers for Fantasia!

KRSK, the HAC station in Portland, OR- just played AWM today for the first time(as not part of a syndicated show) :D.

  • Indigobunting

I still remember seeing Fantasia right after her win at Summerfest in Milwaukee. Of course her concert was just packed; my daughter was bawling (she was really little, loved AI and got me hooked. Now she is too cool for AI, lol) because she couldn’t see Fantasia.

But she really did put on a good show I thought, even if I don’t like her voice, she was entertaining.

Would have seen Carrie on the 4th (she was playing at the Summerfest 20k amphitheatrre) but Danny was at a smaller stage so had to see him instead.

Yes, KRSK is a radio show Monday. Tonight he is in San Francisco for a KIOI show, tomorrow in Santa Rosa for a KMHX show.

  • Marie Ruffin

I saw an interesting “cheat sheet” at another blog site. It listed the appearance fees of all the R&B artists, among them Fantasia and at the time, in 2009 she was asking for $20,000. Nicki Minaj was asking $35,000 and TI $100,000. I’m sure Fantasia is getting more $$$ this year.

I don’t get KMHX. They have been promoting Kris as their headliner, they were the ones who went to Jive to get him to do a show for them, but they hardly play AWM. They only played it twice last week. What can they expect in terms of attendance, if they don’t play more of his songs. And even though he’s not the headliner at KIOI, they didn’t play AWM at all last week.

KRSK played AWM a few minutes ago. But a lot of the radio stations that Kris has been playing these concerts for still tend to spin LLWD to promote his appearances, rather than AWM.

On the positive side, his spins have been increasing every week, if slowly.

  • Eileen99

    I don’t get KMHX.

I don’t, either. They’ve been playing AWM every Sunday night during their new music hour, and then once more on Sunday evenings as an optional song during AT40. Yesterday was the first spin outside of those circumstances, although a DJ tweeted a few people that they were starting to play it. KMHX did spin TT; KIOI & KRSK did not, so I was happy about the AWM today in Portland at KRSK.

Wow Adam got #7..I am guessing that is based on sales? Since SuBo is #3 and she has no radio presence at all. So #7 nice!!!

    Smeggs:

Per Billboard: The New Artist of the Year ranking is based on an artists performance on the Billboard Hot 100 songs and Billboard 200 album charts. In order for an act to qualify as a new artist, they must not have placed an album on any Billboard chart prior to October 2009 nor could they have appeared on a prior year-end new artist ranking.

Well you gotta give grammy nominated crazy cat lady (GNCCL for short lol) credit for getting to #3 due to album sales alone (err well mostly) I don’t know what here singles sales were.

I wonder if they will try to push a new Lee single, or since his album sales are not very good, they just give up.

  • lorismile

Crystal’s CD is also #2 on the Amazon movers and shakers list.

  • artemis

Crystal’s numbers started to climb last evening before her Tonight show appearance. This may have been because her Lyndsey Parker interview and picture were on the Yahoo front page last night, with a headline about revealing her sad family story. Prior to this, her presale numbers had been absurdly low for a talented singer with a large enough fanbase to come in second on AI. I think most of her fans didn’t realize until now that she had an album coming out. Most of the public has a short memory and promo is vital.
It’s interesting to me that her position is so much higher on Amazon than ITunes, though that number has climbed also. I guess Amazon’s stategy of selling her album for 6.99 vs ITunes 9.99 is gaining some new customers for them.
