Concert reports this week from our two most successful Idols. Carrie Underwood is touring with Hunter Hayes to nearly sold out crowds across the South and North East. Meanwhile, The Fray joins Kelly Clarkson in Nashville and Australia.

    I’m going to guess that this may not actually be true.  Her shows are also getting much more elaborate, and that takes additional cash to pull off.  Her % share of the box office may be the same, but the fancier show bumps the ticket price.

    I was actually referring to the average gross per show and not Carrie’s personal take home. I try to stay out of conversations about personal take home because there are so many unknowns (like how much of the costs are taken care of by the tour sponsors VitaminWater and Olay). But, I think the number of shows does take advantage of the up front costs of production. There’s also the fact that Carrie has a relatively cheap opening act (and only 1 opening act, though that wasn’t a cost decision). But, I don’t know specific numbers on how Carrie’s personal take home for the BA tour is comparing to the PO tour and wasn’t trying to comment on that. Sorry for the confusion.
