Idols In Concert – Stats – 04/28/11

We still need to get some Idols to release their albums and start touring. Exciting to see the tour dates announced for S10 (I wonder if they will be good enough for them to be released). The closest I’ve come to anything blog related in the touring front is Blake Shelton a judge on the Voice. I’ll post those, I guess. Woo?

This is the daily numbers thread. Let your voice be heard (we won’t judge you on your looks).

    iTunes update:
    851. I Feel the Earth Move – Carole King – Haley and Casey
    929. Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow (Re-Recorded) – Shirelles – James
    963. You’ve Got a Friend – Carole King – Scotty

    No Traction:
“Oh No Not My Baby” – Jacob
“Where You Lead, I Will Follow” – Lauren
“Up on the Roof” – Lauren and Scotty
    “Heidi Ho” – Casey
“Beautiful” – Haley (assuming Eminem isn’t singing a Carole King cover)
“I’m into Something Good” – Jacob and James

None of these songs were on iTunes yesterday morning.

Yes. Amazing how James moved so many units of that Muse song last week!

Behold! The Overnight Twitter Power List, the one tool you can be sure will NOT predict tonight’s boot! Numbers are not lower than usual, despite stormy weather.

    Percentage increase
For several weeks, percentage increases have been clustering in the 2-4% range. This week has an exception. Can you spot it? I knew ya could!

    Reinhart, Haley 7.15%
    Durbin, James 3.70%
    Lauren Alaina 3.57%
    McCreery, Scott 2.81%
    Lusk, Jacob 2.58%
    Abrams, Casey 2.35%

    Raw Numbers of New Followers
The raw number list is usually different because the singers are coming from such different bases.

    1 Reinhart, Haley 4,141
    2T Lauren Alaina 3,019
    2T McCreery, Scott 2,878
    2T Durbin, James 2,724
    5 Abrams, Casey 2,235
    6 Lusk, Jacob 988

While Lusk will probably go home on a week when he’s lowest on one of these metrics, it’ll be a case of the stopped clock being right twice a day.

Katy Perry, E.T. (feat. Kanye West) (270,000, +23%, 1.883 million)

All versions of E.T. sold 344K this week.

“E.T.” by Katy Perry featuring Kanye West returns to #1 on the Hot 100, after a one-week interruption by “S&M” by Rihanna featuring Britney Spears. “E.T.” sold 344K digital copies this week, which constitutes a new one-week high for the song. The song has sold 2,489,000 copies so far in 2011. It’s just one week away from topping Cee Lo Green’s “F**k You (Forget You)” as the top-seller for the year-to-date. Cee Lo’s opus has sold 2,493,000 copies so far this year.

    1. Katy Perry featuring Kanye West, “E.T.” The song returns to #1 for a fourth week. This is its 11th week on the chart; its ninth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #1 (344K).

    2. Adele “Rolling In The Deep.” The song vaults from #6 to #2 in its 16th week on the chart. This is its fourth week in the top 10. Digital sales rank: #2 (298K).

    Source: Yahoo

Katy Perry must have sold over 13 million downloads from this album. She’s unstoppable.

Fixed. Sorry, all those screaming singers look the same to me. ;-)

Heh, didn’t you hear J&J “take it to church” last night? I dunno which church… but, heh.

That stupid E.T. song is everywhere and so damn catchy. Just that it could be sung by anyone– very not-Katy in style, IMO. But it’s working out, so good for her.

    HDD ONE-DAY SALES:

So far in 2011, it’s all about Adele.

Her second XL/Columbia album, 21, is playing havoc with the sophomore jinx, soaring towards 1.3 million, and set for another week on top, its sixth since coming out in February, in the 85-95k range.

    That’s the good news.

Five albums debut at retail this week, all looking in the 11-16k range. In alphabetical order, they are:
The Airborne Toxic Event’s All at Once
    Augustana Augustana
    Emmylou Harris’ Hard Bargain
    Silverstein’s Rescue
Steve Earle’s I’ll Never Get Out of This World Alive

The market was up 2% vs. last week, up 17% vs. same week last year and now down only 2% year to date, with the possibility of creeping into the black for the first time since 2003.

I have no idea since we don’t have full access to Mediabase anymore but maybe someone else might. I got these #’s straight from Pulse and of course there it’s a hit and miss getting these numbers on a daily basis. I’d be curious to know the answer to your question as well.

  • Indigobunting

Kind of surprised such big name acts with big radio hits aren’t playing a bigger venue 4-5k for Blake, Band Perry and EAston (BNA awards for both and #1 hits) and the 4k one not even sold out.

I guess our Idols don’t do that poorly when they can fill a 1-2k venue at times.

DANNY GOKEY’s “My Best Days” re-enters the Top Country Albums chart at #71.

There was a blurb in the headline thread about Javier’s “Time After Time” from The Voice doing better than Gaga’s “Judas” right now (which not surprising, Judas sucks).

Would it be possible to get Voice numbers from the supercool iTunes peeps?

I’m curious as to see if they charted and how high they got.

But no worries if it doesn’t happen. Not like anyone should support my laziness in not learning how to look this up myself ;)

  • springboard

Javier’s Time After Time is #17 on ITunes right now!

Just noticed that the label is also UMG

    All track from The Voice

    17. Time After Time (The Voice Performance) – Javier Colon
    99. Breakeven (Falling to Pieces) [The Voice Performance] – Xenia
    117. Come As You Are (The Voice Performance) – Rebecca Loebe
    141. Bless the Broken Road (The Voice Performance) – Jeff Jenkins
    173. Rolling In the Deep (The Voice Performance) – Vicci Martinez
    180. Falling Slowly (The Voice Performance) – Elenowen
    241. American Boy (The Voice Performance) – Kelsey Rey
    350. Live Like You Were Dying (The Voice Performance) – Patrick Thomas
    564. Just the Way You Are (The Voice Performance) – Tje Austin
    604. Piece of My Heart (The Voice Performance) – Beverly McClellan

    Thanks so much, springboard!

And wow, 17 for Javier…verra cool.

The Voice peeps seem to be doing better right now on iTunes overall, but that’s not really a just comparison, as The Voice singers just got another night. Though to be fair, to a smaller audience than Idol gets overall, even if both nights for The Voice are combined. So on the other other hand, there’s that.

Hmmm. Interesting. But also…shiny new numbers to look at/track! Oh, how I missed them.

  • springboard

    Javier’s track is amazing..and I didn’t watch the show.

  • Truthiness

    Javier’s track is amazing..and I didn’t watch the show.

I haven’t checked out any of the iTunes, though if it’s as good in the recording, as it was live, I’ll definitely buy “Come As You Are.” And maybe Javier’s “Time After Time.” And I will say, I think the show is worth checking out. I have no idea if they can continue to charm me next week, maybe the suprise factor added to it, this week. So I’ll see. But I think the show is worth checking out. Just my .02.

But thanks again for the iTunes number.

  • Eileen99

The top 3 of 4 tracks from The Voice are all Adam Levine’s picks. Heh, I knew I liked his taste. I’m actually thinking of downloading a couple of those. I wanted Scotty’s track last night but the production was horrible! Ugh. So far, I’m loving what I’m hearing of the Voice production – I previewed almost all of them.

  • sr4mjc

    117. Come As You Are (The Voice Performance) – Rebecca Loebe

This tracks is seriously creepy, in an interesting way. The Voice production team did a great job.

  • Mel1

I love Xenia’s voice. Different too, and not a big vocal diva type. It’s too bad she went with Blake, because he may not keep her. He most likely will lean towards country singers.

Her voice would make a great bluesy country singer like Patsy Cline, so he may just keep her. Here’s hoping. :)
Adam got himself a good team so far. I like the guy Tje and Vicci that are with CeeLo as well.

Well I am just surprised that Aftermath is back to showing up on iTunes at all..lol its been awhile since the idol performance, its getting no radio play. So I say any iTunes charting is the right way for that song lol

it looks like Crystal got a bump for her album off her Idol appearance tonight, as it is at #95 on iTunes. Anybody know where the album was on iTunes today prior to her performance?

  • smeggingnuts

girlygirl I hadn’t seen her album on iTune 1000 in awhile I didn’t check right before idol today though so can’t be positive
