“And, on point, I wonder how many Mamas are having second thoughts about forcing Taylor Swift onto their young ones.”

“forcing Taylor Swift onto their young ones”? Seriously? What kind of mother would do that? I haven’t heard about this. Is it widespread?

Those are piss poor stats for Clay! Even his so called bread and butter Xmas tours aren’t bringing them in anymore. Wow! Doing The Apprentice did him no favors!

  • fuzzywuzzy

Yeah, it’s going to be difficult for Clay to continue this level of touring with these kind of attendance figures. I think that the Apprentice appearance may have increased Clay’s appeal as a television personality, but there was probably a disconnect when it came to his music/singing.

In brief you are implying that their present success has no value because they will not last. But even if they don’t, there is no denying, whether we are fans or not, and I am not,  that they are incredibly successful now. Very very few artists have life long success, regardless of talent, because their style falls out of fashion or they can’t renew themselves in a way that both provides continuation and evolution.

Top international success for a sophomore album is an huge achievement in itself, regardless of what will happen in the future that is, in addition, unknown.
