Album sales this week are 8.34 million units and are up 5.2% from the previous week but 16.8% lower than the same week last year (10.03 million). Overall, album sales down 14% this year from last. Digital track sales are down 2% from last week and up 38% from the same week last year. Overall, digital track sales are up 46% this year from last.

    à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¢ Underwood’s 527,000 opener for “Ride” is the best sales week for a female solo country artist since Shania Twain’s “Greatest Hits” started with 530,000 in November 2004. In terms of all women, Underwood’s bow is the best since Beyonce’s “B’Day” blew in with 541,000 in September 2006 … Underwood’s current single, “So Small,” rises into the top three on Hot Country Songs, giving the artist her fifth top three single … Meanwhile, the singles from “Some Hearts” just won’t die. On the Adult Contemporary chart, “Before He Cheats” is bulleted at No. 8, where it has been lodged in the top 10 for the past 19 weeks

    Ken’s totals for Elliott’s downloads are wrong. Since he had 746,000 total last week, the correct total this week is 758,000. I checked last week’s downloads and my number is right. Adding up all of Carrie’s sales must have confused him.

    Thanks jpfan. I’ve updated the total number in the post. I see that Ken has also posted a correction as well (along with an explanation as to why he does not have Bo’s numbers).
