Some pretty impressive numbers wrapped up this week for Kanye and the gang (and it’s nice to have some good news to report), so let’s sum it up:

    Albums:

    1. Kanye: 957K (15th best debut week for an album in SS history)
    2. 50 Cent: 691K (second week in SS history where 2 albums debuted with > 600K)
    3. Kenny: 387K (biggest country opening week since May, 2006)
    4. HSM2: 133K (top 4 albums this week sold 2.2M…more than last weeks Top 200 albums)

Digital Albums (included in the above totals):
    1. Kanye: 133K (most # of digital albums sold in a week beating Maroon 5 who earlier set the record with 102K)
    2. 50 Cent: 58K
    4. Kenny: 36K

    Download Tracks:
    1 Kanye West “Stronger” 205,177 (31%) Total: 1,049,260 (2)
    3 50 Cent “Ayo Technology” 115,165 (112%) Total: 369,375 (10)

    31 Kanye West “Can’t Tell Me Nothing 31,598 (103%)172,925 (66)

Kanye has the number 1 album, number 1 digital album and number 1 digital download. He may very well get the number 1 on the Hot 100 which would make him the first person to manage to top both the BB200 and Hot 100 in the same week since Avril did with “Girlfriend”.

BTW, Kanye was also number 1 on the UK chart this week. He sold more than 324,980 copies of “Stronger” to go platinum in 1 week.

Nice start for Q4 for the industry!

    From Ken Barnes:
Anyway, one-third of those collective Idol sales belonged to Daughtry, still the year’s best-selling album. This week it had a nice jump, 22-21 on the chart and a 16% sales increase to 23,000, for a total of 3.11 million.

Carrie follows, falling 44-48 after selling 12,000 (down 7%). Her total is 5.92 million, which puts it just behind Nickelback as the biggest-selling album currently on the chart.

Kelly drops 53-70 after a 19% slide to 9,000 copies. Her total is 651,000. Elliott also drops, 63-76, down 13.2% in sales to 8,000 for a total of 399,000.

Mandisa has a nice rebound, 195-142, staving off a departure from the chart. Possibly sale-priced at key locations last week? It sold 4,000, up 23%, and has a total of 48,000.

Bucky drops drastically, 130-181, selling somewhat under 4,000, a 21% drop. Total is 274,000. Kellie is also down, 177-200, selling somewhat more than 3,000, down 13%, for a total of 628,000. Likely to fall off the chart, but these things are tough to predict — see Mandisa and also the improbable return to the chart this week of Fantasia, who rebounds to No. 195 after a couple of weeks off the chart. The odd thing is she sold about 2% fewer records this week, in the low mid-3,000s, but the levels at the bottom of the top 200 dropped enough to allow her to sneak back on (and Kellie to remain on). Fantasia’s total is 473,000.

Wow. Paris has sold more albums than Kim Locke. That’s weird.

    Hot 100 Numbers:

22 Elliott Yamin “Wait For You” (18)
    36 Daughtry “Home” (31)
    37 Daughtry “Over You” (38)
39 Carrie Underwood “Before He Cheats” (32)
44 Carrie Underwood “So Small” (25)

Kanye did get #1 on the Hot 100 (to go with his #1 on the BB200). Kanye also got #14 and #41. 50 cent managed to get #5 and #20. While Kenny got 30 and 50.

Meanwhile, Britney managed to move up to 75 from 85 despite that VMA performance and Feist got 61 (her song is being used in a Apple Nano ad)

Those TV appearances that Daughtry made last week really paid off with nice increases in sales. Go Daughtry!
