A question for the statisticians out there--How does the sales trajectory of Kelly's All I Ever Wanted compare to My December in the first two weeks?

I sort of doubt that Adam Lambert sold more dls than Carrie Underwood last week. It's just as likely that his fans were more prone to rate the song than Carrie's. I can't imagine too many of her fans even bothering. Although it is a way to compare the size/devotion of the fan bases.

I've come up with my own theory on how to estimate the I Tunes sales of this year's contestants. I posted it here:

Brian Mansfield has the numbers posted already! HERE

Bringing album numbers over from Idol Chatter (he has single numbers too):

Kelly's All I Ever Wanted remains the best-selling album, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Despite a second-week 65 percent drop, its 90,000 sales keep Kelly ahead of U2's No Line on the Horizon and a surging Twilight soundtrack...

Carrie's return to Idol benefited her Carnival Ride album, which saw a 59 percent increase to 19,000 sales, a 42-15 leap on the chart (5-2 on the country chart) that lets the album's total top 2.7 million. ...

Other albums of note:

David Cook, David Cook (#54/#87 digital): 9,000 sales, off 13 percent, 1 million total (it sold fewer than a thousand digital albums last week but has a new digital total of 116,000).

Jennifer Hudson, Jennifer Hudson (#56/#166 digital): 8,000, off 25 percent, 676,000 total (46,000 digital total).

Taylor Hicks, The Distance (#87): 6,000, off 34 percent, 15,000 total.

Various, Hit Man: David Foster & Friends (#96): 6,000, off 7 percent, 172,000 total.

David Archuleta, David Archuleta (#125/#183 digital): 4,000, off 10 percent, 669,000 total (58,000 digital total).

Daughtry, Daughtry (#144): 4,000, off 8 percent, 4.4 million total.

Kellie Pickler, Kellie Pickler (#36 country): 2,000, up 2 percent, 183,000 total.

Wow, I forgot about him. I'm curious too at how his numbers turned out and will/has it affected his coming out with an album.

MJ, I see you have a NOW30 ad banner. How funny that the Davids have songs on that compilation: Light On and Crush? Are we going to track sales of that, too. Very eclectic mix: All American Rejects, Lady Gaga, Nickleback, Taylor Swift and the Davids are just a sampling. Interesting.

Why is Already Gone charting before Kelly's second single, I Do Not Hook Up? Interesting.

And WOW, Opry week was more like goose Carrie's sales week! Nice numbers. Even Before He Cheats got a boost-- just from Kara mentioning it as a better song choice for Alexis perhaps?

ETA: Oprah's having a country special and Carrie's of course included. Is 3X platinum imminent for the country it-girl?
