Idol Sales News – Week Ending 10/31/10

Update: Lee’s Sweet Serendipity debuts at 18K

The big news for record sales is Taylor Swift. The official SS numbers are in and she’s moved 1, 047, 000 copies of “Speak Now”. That’s the highest 1 week sales numbers in over 5 years (since 50 Cents’ “Massacre” in March of 2005), the highest 1st week sales from a female in 10 years (since Britney Spear’s “Oops! I did it Again” in 2000) and the highest 1st week sales from a country artists in 12 years (since Garth Brooks’ “Double Live” in 1998).

She’s had the second highest sales week of a female artist (only 4 females have ever sold over 1 million in a week (Norah and Whitney)), the second highest sales week from a country artists and the highest sales week from a female country artist. Billboard

For our Idols, Fantasia is still in the top 50, Carrie in the top 100, and Daughtry, David and Adam round out the top 200.

More fascinating numbers after the jump.
