The prediction for Kris is pretty much what was expected, but Haley’s is a little bit of a surprise, since she did so well the week that she released her single, but that week she appeared on AI, so that boosted her numbers.  Neither has gotten promotion that’s worth the cut that 19 is taking, and they really need their songs to take off in order for the album sales to stabilize.  Both could benefit from songs that have a chance to crossover and reach a larger audience.

That question came up yesterday in fact.  No, that link does not include explicit content.

    Thanks btw.

I didn’t understand why some people thought Haley would sell a lot more than Kris. I figured they would sell around the same amount, given that they have received similar promo and their singles are doing about the same on the chart.

I was hoping that both would do 25-30K, so these numbers are disappointing, especially since both have put out such good albums.

But what are you gonna do, right? It is what it is.

  • Anonymous

gee I’m disappointed too! I tought both would be at least in the 30K figure

  • Anonymous

The expectation came from what both sold of their singles, when the singles debuted.  I don’t think the expectation was that she would sell a lot more than him, and she still might sell more, but there is a huge difference between selling Haley selling around 35K singles and Kris selling 11K.  But, like I said, she was on AI that week.  That helped, but it’s also a sign that she might sell more, since, that boost was courtesy of being just one year removed from her idol run.

Most of us here have been predicting around 20K for Kris for a while, so this isn’t surprising.

Thanks, Kirsten, ZsusK. In a perverse way, the Twitter count has been a fun project.

And we now know all Twitter metrics continued their perverse record of Not Predicting Anything for one final week. My inner scientist rejoices; my inner fan, not so much.
