Quite the week for P2. That close to 200k downloads Home sold is just putting it that much closer to 4Xplat. I’ve lost count but I think he’s around 500k short.

  • justmefornow

Way to go (self produced!) #2  Macklemore & Lewis “Thirft Shop” I love that song.
I bet you guys made way more than 9 cents a download, lol.

What a fun song……great video too. Never heard the song before (only know Macklemore because of roarpen’s posts) and only checked it out because you mentioned it.

I especially get a kick out of artists who record/produce independently and are commerically successful.

  • justmefornow

She’s also where I first heard of them since they are a West Coast group. But they are just starting to break here on the East Coast as well. I introduced my daughter to them and she loves them (I bought her “The Heist” for Xmas).
They are just starting to be noticed at her High School. Watch them break HUGE soon.

  • Anny_nanny

Apparently Brian will always give sale tracks only on the country and christian music now. Happy are you? I don’t listen to no one, nor the other.
I was so hoping to see the results of the last weeks. Boo!

  • LongKissGoodnight

    Home is at ~3.485.000 now.
Thank you HGTV and i-tunes discount.

Also a new peak in overall audience:
    7. PHILLIP PHILLIPS ? Home: 115.053 (+ 0.521)

    And as result… *drumroll*

Phillip Phillips’ “Home” reaches a new peak, No. 6, up from No. 9, in its 28th week on the Hot 100 and Justin Bieber’s “Beauty and a Beat,” featuring Nicki Minaj, slips from its No. 5 peak to No. 7.

Holy Toledo!! I can’t believe today is our last day in the studio! Party time tonight. Gonna dance a lil’ jig.

So fear not the Album is not being rushed, two month to mix and master…recording is done…

  • jpfan2

I don’t know why Brian doesn’t post the downloads of Home. Ditto for Kelly Clarkson. As long as their songs are in top 100 songs of the week, they should be fairly easy to get. It’s when they fall out of the top 100 that it’s very tough to get the actual numbers.

  • fuzzywuzzy

    “Stronger:
    4,010,000″

This sales figure is from the week before.

  • jpfan2

Does anyone know the current number for Stronger? I just got my numbers from Wikipedia but I think it’s selling about 9K or so a week. The Grammy’s should give the song a big boost.

  • fuzzywuzzy

It’s too early for the Soundscan charts to be leaked for last week. However, they were leaked for the week ending Dec. 30 here:

    http://www.ukmix.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=95240&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

  • fuzzywuzzy

The reference for the 4,010,000 on the wiki page was this article by Paul Grein, dated Thursday, January 3, so clearly that sales figure was from the week before:

Never know.  Idol’s coming back next week.  Could be exposed to new fans tuning in for new judges panel.  Phillip’s been part of the winner’s videos that they’ve been airing.  I am sure he and the song will get some nice plugs during the broadcasts.  Then he’s starting his college tours and MB20 shows this mo.  Hopefully, new fans as well.

  • Mateja Praznik

Olly Murs got 37 CHR adds this week for “Troublemaker”.

    Numbers from Yahoo’s Chart Watch - http://music.yahoo.com/blogs/chart-watch/week-ending-jan-6-2013-first-top-10-225323414.html

    Home – Phillip Phillips – 3,484,000
    Stronger – Kelly Clarkson -  4,035,000
Before He Cheats – Carrie Underwood – 3,676,000
    No Air – Jordin Sparks - 3,511,000

  • jpfan2

From the Chart Watch article posted:

“Phillip Phillips’ “Home” jumps from #9 to #6, which is its highest ranking to date. …I’m starting to think that it will replace Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” as the leader. … Next week, “Home” will top Jordin Sparks’ “No Air” (a collabo with Chris Brown, 3,511,000). It may need two weeks to pull ahead of Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats” (3,676,000).”

  • maymay

Home will outsell No Air this week, Before He Cheats next week, and Stronger in February. It from this week needs 5-6 weeks to reach 4 platinum, and will sell over 5 platinum this summer. But 6 platinum eventually ? Time will tell.

Home has become a big anthem so it has a lot of chances to be played on TV or others. That means it will continue to sell in a long time just like some Christmas songs.

Yes, it`s impossible to outsell another Idol smash song Call Me Maybe. But who knows?
