Idol Rumored Top 50: Philadelphia and Dallas Update (Spoilers)

It’s time for another update of the list of rumored Top 50 contestants, compiled by Joesplace and her pals at Idol Forums.

I’ve compiled the entire list so far here. If you want to take a peek at the newest additions, plus some EXTRA SPOILERS regarding the fate of contestants featured on the Philadelphia and Dallas audition episodes–click the jump!

ETA: A poster at Survivor Sucks put together a nice list of contestants from the Philadelphia and Dallas auditions. She used pictures from the americanidol.com website, identifying the posters she could identify, and indicating whether they had been shown on TV and at what point they’d been cut. Several Top 50 contestants weren’t featured in their respective city’s audition episodes.

    The show looks very white, photogenic and young this season. Looks like they think the lack of blondes resulted in last season’s lower ratings. I listened to some clips and I’ll put my early betting $ on David Starsearch winner. He’s got the chops and a Josh Groban/male diva thing going on.

    Looks like not too much r&b or urban this year. Yawn.

    Honestly, I am not surprised by those cuts. Angela Martin was there on her back story. End of the story. Jessica Brown didn’t belong there in the first place, if not for the meth story.

    OTOH, Kyle Ensley made top 50?! WTF?!

    He’ll provide the comic relief/personality in a sea of boring pretty people. They need something to break up the bland but they have to be careful to avoid another Sanjayagate.

    Wow. A lot of these people, especially most of the guys, are surprises to me. I really liked a number of their auditions – guess it goes to show that one abbreviated song does not an Idol make. Thanks for the spoilers, MJ!

    I am glad Colton Swon made it.
    EW names him as one of the top finalists after his audition. I hope he does well in the semifinals. I don’t think he will win, but I hope he goes far.
    He has potential, a male Carrie Underwood counterpart. JMHO.

    Anyone else a little sad about Joey Catalano. So far, he’s my favorite audition.

    I imagine the judges are hallucinating that Kyle Ensly will replace Clay — not gonna happen, but I guess it’s worth a try on their part.

    OMG, David Archuleta’s full audition hasn’t even aired yet and I just saw that his fangroup already has a name – the “Arch Angels”.

    This season looks like it’s just going to be a bunch of blonde white cookie cutter type contestants, no diversity at all. I guess they want to stay away from having any type of ethnic showing on this show considering what happened last season. I’m sorry, I’m not that interested in watching the same looking kids sing all the time.
