Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga to Make ‘Big Swinging’ Jazz Album – Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga will team up once again — this time on a full album. The multi-generational duo, who performed “The Lady is a Tramp” together on Bennett’s “Duets II” album, intend to make a jazz album together. “‘Of all things, she called me from New Zealand and said, ‘I want to do a jazz album with you,’” Bennett told Rolling Stone. “A lot of people don’t know it, but she’s a phenomenal jazz singer.” For material, the album will draw on a to-be-announced composer — one Bennett says deserves more notice. “I can’t mention the composer because I don’t want anybody to do it before we do it, but there’s a great composer that’s very underrated, very famous, but not as famous as Gershwin or Porter,” he said. “But he did as many hit songs as anybody, and so we’re gonna do a big swinging album.” – Read more at Billboard.Com

Nice little article about Stefano at his hs alma mater singing the NA.  His photos are about midway through the slide show – lots of hs cheerleaders in the early part of the slideshow – lol.

Skylar- You misspelled Chiefs in your tweet.

When an NFL Team is giving you exposure, its important to at least spell their name correctly.  It should be C-H-I-E-F-S

Remember the rule?:  “i” before “e”, except after “c” or when sounded as “a” as in “weigh”.

Really huge crowd for P2 in San Fran today. He wasn’t the headliner but still a really amazing crowd. Is this the norm for this event.

  • wkstrack

Ed Sheeran is one of the headliners. He is BIG with the 1D fans and has been selling out shows for a while. That could be a possibility as to why there is a big crowd.

  • rodolfochengcanepa

don´t forget alanis morissette, she is a star.

  • fuzzywuzzy

True. Plus, the “Now and Zen” festival is free, which probably accounts a lot for the huge attendance. lol

  • girlygirltoo

According to the advertisement, the headliners for the Now and Zen Festival were Alanis Morrissette, Matt Nathanson and Ed Sheeran. So, yeah, I would expect a big crowd for that lineup — then throw in the fact that it is free? :)

Heard Jame,s Stand Up song today at the Texans football game. They played it during pregame warmups. We usually are tailgating at that time but the weather was bad. It sounded good.

Random: A lady came into the store my sister works in with the last name Castro. My sister started joking about Jason Castro and it turns out it was his wife. She said she is REALLY pretty and so is the baby. She was also so excited she could barely ring her up properly.

Nice to see James, Blake and Jeff among others lending their support to “The Way Out Organization” a drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation organization.

This is a great opportunity for Phil to introduce his music outside the AI bubble.  He seemed really jazz performing the last few days.  This was probably a welcome change after the Idol tour, even though it’s great to see Errol Cooney with Phil at all 3 shows.

Now back to the studio to work on his CD.

Looks like James is losing his hair in that photo.

Great news for Cat.  I hope they will be happy and I can’t wait to see her wedding gown.  Also, want to see what kind of maternity clothes she wears!

DC took yesterday off for his bandmate and friend Andy Skib’s wedding in Tulsa, and a rocking reception – but today he’s back to doing a Demo with Zac Maloy  (“Come Back to Me”, co -writes on ”Lie”, “Life on the Moon”, “Souvenir” and “From Here To Zero”) and it looks like it involves some David on the drums.

    >>Zac Maloy ?@zacmaloy
    @thedavidcook he drums …tmoro we finish !!!!! http://pic.twitter.com/LAcxzzPk

@zacmaloy Big thanks to the Thunder Dogs for letting me use their kit!

The sweet part of this –  Zac Maloy’s son Ben? The Thunder Dogs is his band. I remember some tweets full of fatherly pride when Ben started doing gigs in 2010. (And a little bit of ‘here we go again’. Heh.)

Just got done watching some video from Phillip & Errol performing at Now & Zen…really enjoyed it, but then again I really like Phillip, but I have to say he must of felt like it was very surreal…performing to a big crowd…doing the songs he wanted to perform and doing them his way & then at the end to sing ‘Home’ and have the crowd sing along with him…you could tell he loved every moment.  Good for him…glad to see Errol is still with him..they play off each other very well.

Thanks for posting this – I didn’t know if you saw this, but this organization that James and his band are getting involved with must be through Cass Dillon (and Billy Joel’s daughter/Billy Joel) since all three are listed on this previous description:

The Way Out offers additional services through The Hang Productions

The Hang Productions is a full service management and artist development company that has worked with some of today’s biggest recording artists: Linkin Park – Alexa Ray Joel – Billy Joel – Cass Dillon – Skylar Grey – Lou Reed – Joan Jett and The Blackhearts – Metallica – Stray Cats – Twisted Sister – Taylor Dane -Jay-Z – Notorious BIG – Vanilla Ice – Nelly to name a few. The Hang Productions is dedicated to helping young people battle addiction and other adversities by harnessing the influence of entertainment industry celebrities and professionals who have confronted similar difficulties and now wish to share their experience, knowledge, and resources.

Glad to hear James SU is continuing to be played at games–thanks for letting fans here know.

  • irockhard

Yeah not the most flattering hairstyle but he’s not losing his hair, he just has a big forehead which he himself admitted once (the reason why he wears bandannas sometimes). A fringed haircut will look better.

  • justmefornow

He does have a large forehead, lol, who cares, the first thing I noticed in that picture was how thin he is. Thinner now than before Idol. He and Heidi seem really happy and healthy lately.
And supporting this rehabilitation organization and writing about suicide prevention, he’s definitely walking the walk. Good for him :)

Adam Lambert with Russell Brand and Kristen Schaal on Rove LA.  Very, very funny.  I think I have a little crush on Rove McManus.

Last night Adam announced that an EP with the radio edit of Trespassing and remixes from the album (I’d guess of Trespassing and NCOE) will be released on 10/16

  • fuzzywuzzy

I was a little surprised that it was just P2 and Errol with no backing band or singers.
