Aerosmith: What to expect from “Music From Another Dimension!” – And probably more importantly, they’ve been making music together for years. Frederiksen first linked up with Aerosmith on the band’s 1997 “Nine Lives” album, and he recently produced two mixes of “Can’t Stop Loving You” — a pop-rock single and a country version. Frederiksen, who has worked with the likes of Faith Hill, Sheryl Crow, Pink and Rascal Flatts, told CBSNews.com that the country version definitely works well. “The music for the song came together in about 30 minutes,” Frederiksen told CBSNews.com. Lauren Alaina Gives Back – It’s not the first time this American Idol Runner Up does something positive for the community.”I was going to be a special needs teacher before I became a singer. I just love being around kids and their families are all here and anything I can do around my area to help out, I’m always excited to be a part of that,” says Lauren Alaina. Fantasia Sings the National Anthem

Greensboro, NC– Thursday night NC A&T Aggies got national exposure when they faced off with visiting MEAC team Morgan State.

The game was televised on ESPNU and kicked off at 7:30pm at Aggie Stadium in Greensboro.

    I totally agree. I guess that I don’t get why asking Jessica about this or defining/defending Jessica’s “Pinoy-ness” seems to be important. She should be talking about her upcoming album.

JD—We’ve had samples of ITNOL, CHome and NEW 2012 Songs – Enemies Like You, We All Go Marching On, & Not Alone which I’ve relistened to several x’s now.  Let’s say whatever they’re (all inclusive) putting together (sorry English– ain’t” no lullabyes).    Detecting rebel attitudes in some.  Ok, how many “notes” (StageIt reference joke) for ALL 20 songs penned & recorded so far Guys???   As a fan I have some other questions that may come up in the Twitter exchanges but faith in good music w/his voice isn’t a concern. 

    Just want whatever they’re putting out.

    Perhaps somebody should tweet Charice’s American manager, Courtney Blooding, that she did Sanchez a disservice as a musician by making such a fuss about how she thinks Sanchez isn’t Pinoy enough to deserve to be popular in the Philippines.

    Or perhaps it would be more appropriate to tweet Ms. Blooding congratulations for successfully shifting the focus of interviews from Sanchez’s music to forcing her to defend her experience of her own ethnicity.

    This isn’t Adam’s first time performing in China.  He did a private concert there (in Shanghai I think) last December, and did a Glam Nation tour show in Hong Kong (SAR of China)

    Yeah, it’s a shame that Blooding’s comments have diverted attention from Jessica being able talk more about her upcoming music. I have a bad feeling that the timing of Blooding’s comments was not accidental. It sucks.

    ETA: I understand that it was Blooding’s comments that led to this area of questioning, but I’m not sure why the Filipino media felt the need to make such a big deal about it and go to such lengths to “defend” Jessica’s “Pinoy-ness”.

    This isn’t Adam’s first time performing in China.  He did a private concert there (in Shanghai I think) last December, and did a Glam Nation tour show in Hong Kong (SAR of China)

    What’s significant this time is that Lambert’s visit is part of a much larger industry-wide push to get a toehold in mainland China. Right now, the entire music market in China is just $67 million and there’s a 99% piracy rate for recorded music… but everybody wants into this market. 

    How the major labels or anybody else in the music biz intends to make money in China is a big unknown (they’ve supposedly gotten Baidu to link less to illegal download sites, fwiw), so don’t look for huge album sales coming out of this trip. It’s fun for Lambert, interesting exposure, and part of an industry movement where success depends on forces beyond any one artist’s control. (I’m sure he’ll do a great job and get a positive response, or he wouldn’t be going in the first place. It’s that nobody is super-clear on the payoff for trying China, right yet.)

    It’s probably for future endorsements or touring opportunities. With diminishing sales for music in general, that is where most artists are making their money nowadays.

    Taylor, I think you’ve called it with “endorsements,” from the artist’s POV. 

    Here’s the site of a Chinese firm that sets up celebrity endorsements:

    By utilizing Top western celebrities endorsements, entertainment brands or product placement, our clients can drastically increase the credibility and visibility of their brands; step up valuations and the likelihood of an IPO or financing for private companies aiming to raise capital.

    A study by McKinsey & Co. found that Chinese consumers are “extremely brand conscious”, and 45% of consumers surveyed think brands are of better quality if they are well known.”

    What the major labels expect to achieve in China, lacking 360 deals where they’d get a bite of endorsement or touring revenues, is still the big question mark. But yeah, I think this particular trip probably does have something to do with setting up Lambert to be able to cash in on the endorsement market. Since I’m all for good financial planning, I hope he gets a cool deal from it.

    Kris Allen and Jose Feliciano – an unexpected duet but one I hope to hear!

    I did not like Fantasia’s National Anthem.  The ending was kind awful.  I can easily name 20 Idols contestants’ versions I like better.

    I am hoping these songs don’t make the album since they have written 20 songs !! I am hopeful :) I remember James saying in an interview near the end of summer, that the new album would be rock … I actually think he said Classic rock. I am not sure what that means but I hope it means its not “soft”.
    I am glad they are coming up with their own sound :)

    It’s interesting to me that Casey keeps rolling Drive out at various one song events. This is still my absolute fav of his current songs and would love it if it became his next single. It’s a bit chancy on radio because it’s a little retro, but gad, it is such a fun song to listen to and his guitar playing is out of this world.

    Marti Frederickson was one of the co-writers on HTH and ITNOL and those songs are awesome. As long as James has a hand in the writing it should be good, so I hope that any song that James didn’t write doesn’t make the album.

    But this is the first time he’s performing publicly in front of 120 millions Chinese TV audiences and 400 millions online viewer. I think another milestone for Adam.

    China may not be a great market for CD due to a huge piracy rate, but it’s going to be a huge market for concerts. I hope after this performance they will allow Adam to have his own concert in China, since they cancelled Jake’s the Scissor Sister’s concert recently.
