Jennifer Hudson ‘Jenniferizes’ New Album With Positive Energy – She’d earned her fame by recording big emotional ballads, but in her new album, JHUD, Hudson tells NPR’s Arun Rath that she was looking to do something different. “It’s expressive of my energy and my everyday person,” Hudson says. “Whereas the other music before, the space I was in was was more about … singing right notes and being just about that. But now this time, I have a new take on what music represents for me and it’s more about celebrating it.” Hudson calls this infusion of energy “Jenniferizing,” and she says it drives her new album. Hudson says she has often been considered a more serious, somber artist and actress, in part because of what she calls her “very heavy life experiences.” But she says that’s not really who she is; that’s not Jennifer Hudson. – Listen to the interview at NPR

Swon Brothers Talk Life On The Road At Country Fest – FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – The brothers told 21Alive that their journey since “The Voice” has been exhausting, but definitely worth it. “We don’t sleep much now, we had to learn – your boy gets used to it- like 2 and 3 hours that’s a good night’s rest. Whether you’re sleeping on planes or buses you just got to get used to it. We’re doing what we love so I mean when we see crowds it just kind of feeds your energy and you kind of forget it all,” said Colton Swon. The brothers, originally from Oklahoma, grew up down the street from fellow country superstar Carrie Underwood. – See the Video at Indiana News Center

Ryan Seacrest talks new season of ‘American Idol’ – Of course you can’t talk to Seacrest without chatting about “American Idol.” He said so far he’s seen the best talent come from this year’s auditions in the Big Apple. “We’ve seen all walks of artistry but in New York believe it or not we’ve had one of the strongest turn-outs,” Seacrest said. “We’ve been there often and sometimes it’s hit-or-miss but we saw some really great talent in New York last week so I’m excited to see what they do.” Seacrest also talked about “American Idol” alum Adam Lambert — who made history this week as the first former-contestant to fill in on the judges’ panel during auditions in New York. “He was brilliant. He sat in there. He had some great insight for the contestants. He was one so he had that perspective,” Seacrest said. – Watch the Video at FOX News
