I think that is what irritated Simon. Didn't one point in the season he tell someone - maybe DC - that not everyone was your friend even though you think they are? It sounded like he was trying to stir something up then. Just like Paula says he is doing now with the judges. Nigel also said the contestants from S7 has no personality. But bloggers continually post that they identified with these 10 more than in past years. Maybe Simon and Nigel were looking for high drama and couldn't see the human interest stories developing in front of their eyes. And another thought - Simon like folks to talk back to him. Oh and listen up Emmy voters, Simon says the show was boring so no need to vote for it or anything even though he praised it for being one of The Great Finales earlier on. I could find many examples of his flip flopping but I'll shad ap about it.
