Dis David Archuleta? You’re gonna pay, buddy

Our pop music critic, Sean Daly, has a seemingly cool job, right? Schmooze with celebs on the phone, go to concerts free, get all the new music he wants to listen to. Ahh. Bliss.

Uh, wrong.

Seems SD stands for Stupid Doofus, if his fan mail is any indication. After reviewing Smashing Pumpkins on Wednesday, then the American Idol Tour on Thursday, Sean finished his week with a treatise on free eating that sealed his fate as the most hated man in Tampa Bay. It was a veritable smorgasbord of vitriolic invective.

But is Sean worried? We’ll let his Pop Life blog entry from tampabay.com speak for itself:

“American Idol’s” Syesha Mercado Talks About Life After “Idol”

Ft. Lauderdale, FL (CNS) – Syesha Mercado seems like the average 21-year-old girl – she likes Alicia Keyes and watches “South Park.”

Oh, except for one thing – she finished in third place earlier this year on “American Idol.” Mercado was the last female contestant left on the show before the competition narrowed down to David vs. David.

Now Mercado is touring with the rest of this year’s top 10 “Idol” finalists on the “American Idols LIVE! Tour 2008.” Before she sang at the BankAtlantic Center on Wednesday night, Mercado sat down with the Celebrity News Service and spoke about life since “Idol.”

Mercado says so far the tour, which began July 1, has been “excellent.”

“American Idol” Star Brooke White Discusses Tour And Fundraising Campaign

Ft. Lauderdale, FL (CNS) – While the “American Idol” judges did not love Brooke White’s performance of “Here Comes the Sun” earlier this year on the show, some might say that she brings sunshine into the room when she walks into it.

White was the fifth place finalist earlier this year on “Idol.” The petite, 25-year-old blonde gave memorable performances of songs like “You’re So Vain” and “Let It Be.”

She also charmed audiences with her quirky personality. On one episode of “Idol,” she revealed that she has never seen an R-rated movie.

“I still haven’t,” she tells the Celebrity News Service exclusively. “People think I’m so strange. It’s not a big deal.”

“American Idol” Star Jason Castro Talks New Album And “Idols” Tour

Ft. Lauderdale, FL (CNS) – Though Jason Castro’s weekly “American Idol” performances are now nothing more than a “Memory,” fans can expect to see more of the mellow singer in the coming months.

Castro finished fourth earlier this year on “Idol.” However he won over fans with his deep blue eyes, dreadlocks and unique covers of songs like “Hallelujah” and “Over the Rainbow.”

Some thought Castro gave off a Jack Johnson and John Mayer kind of vibe with his guitar-driven soft rock.

“Yeah, I think I fit in really good with those guys. They’re some of my big inspirations, too,” Castro tells Celebrity News Service exclusively.

West, Lopez, Daughtry among stars in Denver

DENVER (AP) à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ Never mind those stinging “celebrity” ads, or the rebuttal by Paris Hilton. Musicians, artists and Hollywood types are descending on Denver à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ and so what if Barack Obama doesn’t need their star power?

He’ll get it anyway.

Of course, many of the most high-profile parties and concerts planned for the four-day Democratic Convention are ostensibly set apart from Team Obama.

Even fellow Chicagoan Kanye West’s performance Wednesday is for Bono’s nonpartisan ONE Campaign, which plans another concert à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ though with Chris Daughtry instead of West à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ on the sidelines of the Republican gathering in St. Paul, Minn.

Review: Daughtry brings it, but not all of it

ESSEX JUNCTION — There were moments at Chris Daughtry’s concert Sunday night at the Champlain Valley Fair where he demonstrated what a versatile performer he really is.

After a steady diet of emo-pop-rockers — the opener “Gone,” “What I Want” with its thrashing chorus, “Over You” with its classic slow build-up into a heavy sing-along chorus — his band members disappeared and he sat alone on stage with his guitar to play a new song, “Long Way.” The “American Idol” alumnus showed off his powerful, emotional voice, even tossing in a bit of Chris Isaak’s mysterious “Wicked Game” to demonstrate that he can wind his way impressively around something other than a hard-rocker.

Even after advancing to the final four of Canadian Idol this week, he’d still enjoy jumping back on a backhoe any day.

“Everything’s fun, if you want it to be,” he said

And fun was certainly had Friday night during his performance at Lloydminster’s Exhibition Grounds, showcasing one of his own compositions, called Ghost. It’s a feat he’s unable to do on the show.

Fantasia in Atlanta over the weekend

I caught a short set by Fantasia at the Atlanta Civic Center Saturday night.

Can you believe that whiney Tampa paper? Why give the public an opportunity to comment on opinion pieces if you don’t want to hear people disagree with you?

  • Autumn

Unfortunately this highlights what has been happening all summer from Archuleta fans. Does this sort of heightened protectiveness (no tolerance for any criticism) happen with other celebs or is this a new phenomenon? It has become sort of the “trademark” of DA’s fans which I find completely baffling because David A. himself is such a sweet and polite young man.

  • tinawina

It’s certainly not going to help with the Archies equals Soul Patrol equals Claymates comparisons. Fair or no, this just adds fuel to the fire.

  • frogcooke

Autumn, there were other non idol comments about his other reviews too, so it seems no only the Archie fans were displeased with his reviews… But seeing as David is one of the ‘in’ things right now, why not focus it on him.. lol But others were not pleased with his other reviews as well…

Did David seem shy around the actors? How would you describe his interaction with everyone?

I wouldnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t say that David was shy, but he was quiet until he got to know everyone. It was really cute though because during the first scene, no one really ever introduced all of us to him, we just started shooting. Everyone kept whispering à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“do we talk to him?, Is someone going to introduce us?à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ..etc. No one really knew how to approach him or what to say. And after we did one take, I walked right up to him stuck my hand out and said à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Hi David, Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m Kat.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ He had this huge smile on his face and after that everyone felt comfortable talking to him. I think it was just the initial introduction that a few people were nervous about. After that it felt as though we had all known each other our entire lives. Everyoneà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s chemistry on set was just breathtaking.

It seems that some of Archie’s fans are going that route, tinawina — it certainly did Taylor and Clay NO favors. It’ll get to the point that they’d rather not write about him at all, rather than put up with the rabid fans defending their baby crap. Not a good idea, imo, obviously.

I think each Idol’s fanbase is going to have those few fans who won’t tolerate any criticism of their favorite. However, the problem arises when a fanbase ends up having more than a few of those types of fans such that the newspaper (or whatever media outlet) decides that the defensiveness / craziness of those fans is itself a story (like the above). That can reflect badly on the particular star/celebrity — and IMO, it’s so unnecessary in David Archuleta’s case because there is nothing to be defensive about. He’s doing really well right now, he’s talented and if people would just chill, more than enough people will get on the bandwagon to make him successful outside of the Idol bubble. These types of stories, however, will just drive people away because, seriously, who wants to be lumped in with a fanbase that’s perceived as full of nuts? I’m not saying that’s the case but the perception is what’s important. If the first time people hear about David is that (1) his fans will spam a site with hate mail because someone uttered one negative review of the guy and (2) his fanbase also happened to have won most fanatical fans on tCA, I think you’re setting things up so the person doesn’t give David’s music a chance.

I just went to that link for the “Dis David Archuleta? Youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢re gonna pay, buddy” article. Oh my. I don’t know what the original comments were from the Archie fans, but the ones on there now are pretty awful (so I can only imagine what the others were). I have to agree, the fans definitely do not have any tolerance for criticism and like you said, totally opposite of the sweet and polite Archie.

I am also baffled by the phenomenon of the older women “Crushing” on David (and I don’t mean just liking his song). I can sort of understand the cougar phenomenon with the Idols such as Taylor or David C., but Archie is just a “BOY”. A 17 year old boy, not an adult (yet). This seems sort of creepy to me.

  • jpfan

Archie fans are just following a long tradition. I admit I give them a pass because I usually assume most of them are tweens or younger. Maybe, because he puts out such a “goofy/asexual” vibe. It’s not because he was my fav on S7. I hated it when fans of my past favorites overreacted like this because I thought it would hurt their careers. I just don’t feel that way about Archie’s fans for some reason.

  • http://myspace.com/girlgeek mj

I admit I give them a pass because I usually assume most of them are tweens or younger.

In my experience, I find that I first assume the fans are young, and then find out that often they are not. Many of these posters are middle-aged with families.

And it’s not only David Archuleta with the super-invested fans. Not by a long shot. I know from a few of the fanwanking posts I’ve had to delete from this very site that it’s not only DA.

  • Michelle

LOL, looks like Tampa Daily took a cue from Washington Post. I don’t mind when it comes from kids or teenagers cause you kind of expect that (and I’m sure Archie’s handlers are banking on it.) It’s when the weirdo comments come from what are obviously older fans that it starts to squick me out.

I understand exactly what you are saying however, DA will be 18 and technically “legal” in December if I am not mistaken so I don’t think it really qualifies as “freaky and disgusting”. Plenty of women find 18 to 20 yr old males very attractive but DA is so atipical of the average young male,he presents himself as much younger (13/15) and that makes it harder to swallow. Heck the kid himself has said he has never even had a first kiss.

I actually was reading in one forum about a lady, cougar, who asked David A. for a hug and ended kissing him in the neck… at the beggining I though that the person that posted the story was a teenager, so I didn ´t really care about it, until I saw the picture she posted of her and David… she looked like a 40 year old, like she could be his mon or my mon (I ´m 24)…that ´s really freeks me out…not all the older members of the fanbase are like that but some make thing that Archie should get a restriction order agins them

Just wanted to state that Sean Daly writes for the St Pete Times. St Pete Times owns the domain tampabay.com but they have very little distribution in Tampa itself. I can’t stand him. He once wrote how he likes to go to Justin Timberlake’s concerts because of all the girls and their hawt moms. Mind you did not say the girl’s hawt moms. He said both. Very creepy. FYI, Tampa Tribune’s site is TBO.com and Walt Belcher put up an okay review (nice blurb about Charly Belcher’s daughter – I think no relation). He also did an interview with Ramielle (apparently she went to school near here), Michael Johns (‘the dance”), and Carly (tatoos). They were from the 22nd but I don’t think they made the headlines because it’s a blog.

The Archie phenomenon – one of the things that makes him so interesting to fans! I think that those who are touched deeply by his singing don’t know how to reconcile those feelings with the fact that he is so young. Certainly when he sings he is years older than his chronological age and so it might seem easy to fall in ‘love’ with the singer as we do. Where the lust comes in I don’t get and Gwendolyn, I know what you mean, some of those women should be arrested.

On the other hand, as an older mother of older sons, I don’t see much difference between cougars salivating over an attractive 25 year old and someone almost 18. And I don’t mean that in a critical way. Testosterone is testosterone is testosterone and I’ve seen Archie exude it at times – the only difference in the two ages is their personal experience with sex, so in Archie’s case, I get beyond annoyed with the inappropriate chatter. To some, the innocence factor itself is a huge turn on I guess, just like it is for men.

As for the rabid fans, I agree that there really isn’t too much difference in the fanbases of the male contestants this year. Archie probably calls forth a bit more protectiveness because any unfunny snark or mean-spirited criticism against him seems so unwarranted in a boy so guileless and innocent in all other respects. I’ve never understood the loathing that he calls forth from reporters and bloggers.

  • mac

The key words here are “almost 18″. Uh…..underage. Uh….wrong. Pretty black and white in my opinion. When he turns 18 and becomes an adult, the cougars can go to town and it will not offend me.

Testosterone is testosterone is testosterone and Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve seen Archie exude it at times

Ok, now I am going to spend the whole day trying to get that image out of my brain.

elle, What I have a hard time with is the constant battle cry of “He is only 17 and just a baby, how dare anyone be so mean to a child” mixed with the worship and inappropriate chatter. How can you claim him to be a child and find him sexually irrisistable at the same time? It doesn’t jive with a lot of people.

Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve never understood the loathing that he calls forth from reporters and bloggers.

Me either. In fact, I don’t understand why any of them have such harsh critics really. They are all obviously very talented to some extent and should be applauded IMO

I see Warren Sapp is also on Dancing with the stars. Sapp is such a loud mouth. This is gonna be interesting. I also saw Susan Lucci, Lance Bass, Cloris Leachman, and several others I never heard of listed. Cloris Leachman should be fun. I absolutely loved her on Young Frankenstein and Scary Movie.

Cloris Leachman???? Good Lord! How old is she? Wow, just Wow! And Susan Lucci? I love her to death but it sounds more like “Dancing with the Seniors” instead of “Dancing with the Stars”……………

Im not a huge DA fan, I do think he is a cutie and I love his voice but I did not like Crush when I downloaded it. Maybe Im too old to get it lol. For me, anyone couldve been singing it, didnt show off that voice.

As for the 4th judge, she already wants the prime seat. Guess she doesn’t understand the new kid on the block has to “earn” things. I enjoy the repartee between Simon and Paula so hope she stays there. If not, I do think there may be some fireworks between the two gals. Simon would love that extra attention so he might just seat her there, although I think he’s very protective of Paula and may not want to move her. I still laugh when I think of him picking himself, his mom and Paula as the 3 people he would save on a boat if he could only pick 3. I guess his gf terri was to float alongside the boat rofl.

I was only able to watch a small bit of the closing ceremony since our Houston show was going at the same time, but from what I saw it was really cool. So just wanted to ramble a bit on that haha.

On a side note I just wanna thank everyone sooooo much for your support with Crush! I was shocked to see it number 1 on iTunes and then I about died when I saw it number 2 on the hot 100 lol. Someone told me during the Sunrise, Florida aftershow about the billboard debut but I thought they were mistaken and didn’t believe them. But wow! I’m just ecstatic to know that you guys like the song and thanks so much for helping make Crush do what I thought was the unthinkable!

I’m still working on the album and we’re all trying really hard to do our best. Well we’re at the venue now so talk to you guys later!”

Here is an interview with Cookie from Ft. Lauderdale that is just full of awesome. I was going to quote portions, but are just too many to choose from. Some album news, and the reporter even mentions Mavid!!

FolkFan, thanks for the concert review!!!

EmmaJK, thanks for the interview with DC!!!!!!!

  • frogcooke

im recording the disney interview today(archie).
So far talked about choir, and song writing.. lol

In choir, people would stop singing to listen to him sing…. haha. Talks about song writing process how if he has something to say or needs to get out he kind writes it down, sometimes a melody will come first or lyrics, but says its best when they come at the same time because you get a feel for the song the best. Made an analogy.. Its like writing down a diary/journal entry but for everyone to see/hear.

    Disney certainly likes to space out this interview… there’s like 1-3 songs between questions @___@;

  • Autumn

EmmaJK, Thanks for finding that! Awesome interview!

In and out of music, Cook just wants to stay true to himself and be someone worthy of respect.

Cook has done that a hundred times over already and didn’t Simon predict it? LOL “That was rather worthy…..”

Did anyone catch that Lacey Schwimmer is going to be one of the pro dancers on DWTS this season?? She’s going to be paired with Lance Bass. (For those who may not be aware, she was the 4th place finisher on SYTYCD season 3, and is the sister of Benji Schwimmer, the winner of SYTYCD season 2. She assisted Benji when he choreographed the West Coast Swing routine for Katee & Joshua this season. She also appeared with the SYTYCD dancers on Idol Gives Back this year. And was rumored to have gone out on a date or two with David Cook after said taping. ;) ) I was a huge NSYNC fangirl back in the day, so I may have to vote for them. ;)

This People article mentions the pairings.

I also have to say: OMG!YAY! Maks is back! My fall eyecandy is all lined up, and I could not BE more happy!!! He’s paired with Misty May-Treanor, so they should have a good run on the show. I may have to vote for them too. Yayayayayayayay for Maks being back this season! My interest in that show really waned last year, and I think Maks not being there was a big part of it lol.

Obviously, all fanbases have their crazies. But, the Archies collectively– no disrespect to the sane ones that post here– have well earned their reputation as the new Claymates.

The Tampa Tribune isn’t the only paper that has written something about it. A reviewer from Salon posted about it too after he received hundreds of irate e-mails for his finale review.

But, aside from the immediate spamming that occurs over any negative word written about DA in the online press or blogs, let’s remember that these are the fans who CANVASSED DOOR TO DOOR to get out the finale vote.

    (Knock, knock!)

“(wearily) Ok, who are you here for? Who do you want us to vote for”

    “Obama?”

    “No? Ok, Hillary then?”

    “Hmm, McCain?”

    “Not Romney?!”

    “Archuleta???????”

  • dante

Thanks for the People link Sarah – Wow Cloris Leachman really is 82! I wasn’t too excited when I first saw the celebrity list today, but now that I see some of my fav professional dancers are paired with them, I am excited!!!!! I do like SYTYCD better but good to have DWTS to look forward too in the fall.

  • spritely

Oh oh, maybe Lacey will have to dance a waltz to TOML. It’ll be the first time anybody ever stomped her way through a waltz.

  • http://www.myspace.com/swood1104 Sarah

I hear ya, dante. I was kinda WTF about the list when I first read it (except Lance Bass – he was always my fave guy in NSYNC. I always pick the gay ones lol), but when I found the People link, I got more excited.

ESPECIALLY when I saw that Maks is back. He is just effing HOT. :blush_tb: :wub_tb:

So, “Dancing With the Stars” Starts in September…. Off topic posts spring up in two threads. Lots of chatter on the blog about it. Hm. I guess I should cover it this year? What do you guys think? :) .

Of course, I’ve never watched it. I kinda hate the reality shows that feature washed up celebrities…but what the heck?

  • spritely

I guess I should cover it this year? What do you guys think? :) .

    This guy thinks yes, please!

  • KrazeeK120

I guess I should cover it this year? What do you guys think? :) .

Oh yes, please do! I need something to tide me over until AI starts again!

  • http://www.myspace.com/gwendolyndiane GwendolynD

Hm. I guess I should cover it this year? What do you guys think? :) .

For Cloris Leachman’s sake, yes! :D

  • spritely

lol, yes, do it for Cloris!

  • http://www.myspace.com/swood1104 Sarah

Hey, DWTS is *kinda* on topic. Look! DWTS – Lacey Schwimmer – SYTYCD – Nigel/19 – AI. :) It all goes back to the stages of separation. LOL.

Nah, I’d love it if you covered it!! I didn’t watch much last season because Tuesdays had AI, DWTS, and Big Brother all at the same time, but since my hottie Maks is back this season (and he is my tv boyfriend, I claim him NOW! ;) ), my eyes will be glued to my tv this season. :D

  • http://myspace.com/girlgeek mj

Hey, DWTS is *kinda* on topic. Look! DWTS – Lacey Schwimmer – SYTYCD – Nigel/19 – AI. :) It all goes back to the stages of separation. LOL.

LOL. And Paula wants to be on it. So it’s on topic!

Why was this show on in the winter last year? Did it have to do with the writers strike?

  • dante

“Hey, DWTS is *kinda* on topic. Look! DWTS – Lacey Schwimmer – SYTYCD – Nigel/19 – AI. :) It all goes back to the stages of separation. LOL.

LOL. And Paula wants to be on it. So ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s on topic!”

And didn’t we read that Kellie Pickler wanted to be on DWTS!

I didn’t watch much last year as Kristi Yamaguchi was so much better than any other contestant and was getting 10′s about the second week……but I did watch the other seasons and plan on watching this year.

It would be kind of fun to follow it here and maybe even do the pool. So I vote yes for mj to cover it.

ETA: I suck at blockquote but I was trying to quote from earlier posts – sorry!

  • http://www.myspace.com/swood1104 Sarah

Why was this show on in the winter last year? Did it have to do with the writers strike?

No, I think they usually do a fall and a spring season. I’ve only watched the full seasons of 4 & 5, though, so I’m not sure.

It’s a pretty fun show – the REAL host, Tom Bergeron, is one of the best live hosts there is. He’s cheesy at times, but can say some pretty hilarious things. Samantha Harris, the “other” host, is useless. LOL. And the judges can be pretty funny sometimes too. Talk about not making sense, meet Bruno Tonioli and his crazy analogies! :)

The only real “WTF” thing for me this season is Kim Kardashian being on the roster of stars. What, exactly, has she done to become a star? Make a sex tape?

  • http://myspace.com/girlgeek mj

No, I think they usually do a fall and a spring season. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve only watched the full seasons of 4 & 5, though, so Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m not sure.

Eep. Don’t think I can handle the spring season, except in the most rudimentary way, especially if it programs against Idol.

Wow, 2 a year? Isn’t that oversaturating the market a bit?

  • http://www.myspace.com/swood1104 Sarah

Yeah, you’d think two a year would be oversaturating, but people eat this stuff up LOL.

Here’s my fave dance that my hot tv boyfriend Maks has done on the show. It was the first Rumba he did with Mel B (of the Spice Girls) in season 5.

Just wanted to state that Sean Daly writes for the St Pete Times. St Pete Times owns the domain tampabay.com but they have very little distribution in Tampa itself.

Actually, while Sean is indeed the music critic for the St. Pete Times, it’s distribution in Tampa is quite healthy. The St. Pete times is the largest newspaper in the Tampa Bay Area and it has the second largest distribution in the State of Florida (Miami is first). Traveling North, you’d get all the way to DC before you found a newspaper with a bigger circulation.

It far eclipses the Tampa Tribune in both circulation and industry awards. Anyplace in Tampa where the Tribune is for sale, you’ll also find the St. Pete Times. And, they sell a whole lot more of them throughout the area. That’s why when you see the Idols in downtown Tampa, you see them at the St. Pete Times Forum, because they actually had the money to buy the naming rights.

That’s not to say that Sean isn’t obnoxious often, because he is. He has liked some Idols in the past though. And, if you really want to see him get his hate on, you should read his old Taylor Hicks archives (or anyone who wasn’t Mandisa during Season 5 for that matter – Sean was bitter that year). He did however come around to Daughtry, ’cause Sean can sometimes be a bandwagon jumber LOL. His non-idol related music recommendations and concert reviews are usually quite good though.

So much to comment on today, and so little time. Maks is back? YAY. He’s the main reason to watch DWTS – hotness!! And, I worship Rocco. He’s got mad cooking skills, and his cookbook “Flavor” is about the best cookboock I’ve ever read. I could watch Rocco do cooking demonstrations all day long – he’s mesmerizing.

  • spritely

Count me in as another who really likes Tom B. as a host, enjoys the judges, and thinks Samantha’s interviews can only be endured on Fast Forward. Like SYTYCD, we get to see the rehearsals and the moments of joy and the discouragements and the bumps and bruises–which I wish we got to see on Idol.

  • SpenserJ

    So, obviously I wasn’t done…

I see Warren Sapp is also on Dancing with the stars. Sapp is such a loud mouth.

I once rode in an elevator with him – he’s huge. And, for a very long time, he was a big football hero here in Buccaneer country. But, what we should all remember about Warren, is that he is the mother effin asshole who sent a body double to go take a paternity test for him. Each of the women he has had children with has had to routinely take him back to court for back child support, health benefits for the children, etc. And, at the top of his game, the guy was earning like six million dollars a year.

Warren’s talent on the field was pretty amazing. But, he’s a low grade human being. It disappoints me to see him on a show I like. And, I usually love the football guys. Bummer.

Completely offtopic but I feel compelled to respond regarding my statement of the that St Pete Times is not Tampa’s paper:

Here is the circulation by county:
Hillsborough (this is Tampa) – St Pete Times 32,500 (coverage = 7%)
    – Tampa Tribune 144,000 (coverage = 31%)
St Pete has most of it’s distribution in Pinellas County – 190,000 for a 44% coverage and yes has a greater circulation than the Tribune. My point was St Pete is NOT Tampa’s paper. It’s a Pinellas county paper.

These stats are as of July 2008

If you cover it and do the pool MJ, maybe I will watch the show in it’s entirely, something I’ve never done. Might be something else to tide us over…..

The comment section in the Fantasia article reminds me again to never call out any one fanbase for ‘enthusiasm/fanaticism’.

Just in case it hasn’t been posted yet…Jasonnn’s official website is now up and running. :)

  • SpenserJ

My point was St Pete is NOT Tampaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s paper. Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a Pinellas county paper.

That’s all good. But my point was that in the Tampa Bay Area, more people read it. And, when attending a concert at the Forum, you’ll find people representing each of the six counties in the greater Tampa metro area.

Actually, my bottom line point is a fan-base warning. Don’t attack Sean Daly in his comments section. There is no doubt you will be made fun of by a) his loyal readers who comment on there every day – I swear the guy has a fan club; b)TBO will write an online article about your fanatacism; c) you may end up being made fun of in a print article in the second largest newspaper in FL. The fans cannot win in these situations.

Thrilled to hear you’ll be covering DWTS, mj! It is a fun show for all the reasons already enumerated.

I am so happy Maks is back! The show wasn’t half as good without him. I still think he and Mel was robbed! :)
