Pickler writes songs from heart, life – GO! Magazine recently caught up with the singer between stops on her long-running North American tour, which includes a visit to The Amphitheater at Heron Ponds in Delmar on Thursday, Aug. 25. What was it like shooting the video for “Tough”? Obviously, it was a pretty emotional day. I think when people hear the word “tough,” they automatically go to “physical” tough. But for me — with this song — the word “tough” is talking about emotional and mental toughness that you have to have; this strength that we have to have to get through this crazy thing called life. – Read more at Delmarvanow.com

Mel Shields: Taylor Hicks to debut at Harrah’s Reno – Like many aspiring musicians, Taylor Hicks, the Season 5 winner of “American Idol,” got his start playing little clubs. Unlike other musicians, Hicks had to share time with fish tossing. ”It was one of my very first gigs,” Hicks said of performing at a lounge called Flora-Bama. “It’s right on the border as the name implies, but it’s best known for the International Mullet Toss.” Mullets, Hicks said, are the Gulf Coast equivalent of codfish. “Essentially, they put all these fish in a garbage can, all slicked up, and people toss them,” he said. “A lot of people see how drunk they can get, and how far they can throw a fish.” Read more at SacBee

Jessie J Confirms Return as Coach on BBC’s ‘The Voice U.K.’ – EDINBURGH – Jessie J has confirmed that she will return as a coach for the second season of the BBC’s The Voice U.K. Some had wondered if the 24-year-old star would leave the music competition amid reports that she may concentrate on her musical career and suggestions that the show may need a change of coaches and judges amid declining ratings later in the first season. “I WILL be a coach on the 2nd series of The Voice UK!,” Jessie J tweeted.”I’m B B B BACK!” – Read more at The Hollywood Reporter

Oprah Winfrey, Lady Gaga Top List Of Celebrity Power Women – It took us a while to come around to the notion that celebrities—actors, singers and entertainers—could be counted among the world’s most powerful women. It wasn’t until 2010, in fact, a full seven years after FORBES inaugural list, that any entertainer with the exception of Oprah (who, to be fair, is a multi-hyphenate philanthropist with some of the world’s deepest pockets) was counted in the ranks. – Read more at Forbes

Cass Dillon is associated with Billy Joel.  He is dating Billy Joel’s daughter I think.  I was confused why James tweeted just his twitter name like that.  Like it’s another hint.  But Cass Dillon plays guitar I think, not drums.  And as much as James liked Jeff, I still don’t think James would be as upset to lose Jeff as he would one of his good friends like Dylan.  I’m still thinking Dylan is going with Archer again at least for now.  Maybe they hired Cass Dillon to fill in or maybe he’s a replacement?  James drives everyone crazy with his hints all the time!

Hopefully the tweet is unrelated and all it means is that Cass is one of the songwriters he’s working with. I can see James getting way more upset about Dylan than Jeff, but it looks clear to me that he’s lost Jeff. Maybe he lost Dylan too? God I hope not! I know that there are plenty guitarists out there who are as good as Dylan but it’s very difficult to duplicate the chemistry they have. I mean look at Guns n Roses, they were never the same after Slash left the band.

Well bands change members all the time.  Look at In This Moment – Blake and Jeff left them last year to be with James and they hired two new band members and put out a new album this year without a hitch.  But I think friendship is extremely important to James.  Once he gets used to something, I don’t think he likes change.  He will get used to the changes and new band members and so will his fans, but it’s probably going to be hard on him.

Funny thing is though – James sounds down in his tweets about this change in the band.  But all other tweets he sounds happy in.  He’s obviously still writing and recording.  Still answering some fan questions.  I think he will be fine.  I think he might be disappointed but I don’t think he’s devastated or anything.

Some of us have been digging up info on this new band and apparently they were at some of the LA venues James performed at last week. Looks like there may have been some behind the scenes negotiations between Jeff and this band and maybe James found out about it, got mad and kicked Jeff out.

You guys are like detectives.  You’ll probably end up figuring it out before Monday.  Have you checked into the other guys in the band – their facebooks or anything?  Or has anyone come right out and asked Dylan if he is staying with James?  It looks like he talks to fans all the time.

Cass Dillon is totally hot.  See what you can dig up on him too – what is he working on with James?  lol

Wish Casey had more of this bluesy vibe on his album :(

~Le Sigh~ I would have bought ‘that’ album in a New York Minute, Kesia Monteith, and I know there are some other people who would have too…because I got them interested in CaseyJ in the first place, with the Keys Lounge videos.

I’m happy for Casey doing so well on Country with his first major label foray – the news has been so good lately; that is really great for him – but it’s bad for me. Mercy, I can still hope for ‘someday’ – and the “Good Stuff” on an album, not just scraps from concert videos with all the shriekage and screamage between my ears and the music I would rather hear.
